AAO 4.52b25 Showing Delays and Freezes

Featured Replies

I was a few months without using AAO and today I downloaded version 4.52 b26 from JustFlight. Strangely, AAO is freezing. Checklists load slowly, scripts execute slowly. For example, when I press the PTT button there’s a delay to activate and to deactivate. What could be causing this?

? Should be 4.55

Sorry, no idea. When software does this, the usual cause is that something is creating a massive amount of error situations. That would for example be visible in the logfiles, when they containt thousands of exception messages.

Maybe check for incompatible hardware. Go to "Hardware->Device Blacklist" and "Ignore" everything that isn't a game controller that you are using with AAO.

Yes, I mentioned the wrong version earlier.

I’ve just formatted Windows and the problem still persists.
I removed every device from the rear USB ports, keeping only the mouse and keyboard — the issue still happens.
Then I removed even the keyboard and left only a Thrustmaster joystick connected, using the joystick as the trigger — same problem.
I disabled everything possible in the hardware blacklist screen inside AAO, no success.

Just for context:
I recently upgraded my PC with a full Lian Li setup, and I’m using an internal hub connected to the motherboard for the fans with LCD screens. This hub does not appear inside AAO to be ignored/blocked, and I don’t think it’s the cause because of how it communicates, but I’m mentioning it for completeness.

What’s confusing me is this: I tested different configurations in AAO, and for example, I just created a button to control throttle and there’s no delay. But the moment I assign anything related to PTT, the freezing/lag immediately appears.

Sorry again, but I haven't got a single clue. Aren't there any error messages in the AAO logfiles? And I don't mean a handful, behavior like that, there should be hundreds, thousands even.

Sounds like an incompatibility regarding either your local Windows Voice Recognition and/or the sound card. Which one of the voice recognition options did you choose in AAO?

In AAOs database directory.

C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\LORBY_SI\...yourAAOvariant...

Again: what type of voice recogniton did you choose in AAO? One of the testers had the same problem once, because he set it to Azure by accident.

Not that I know of. Other than making sure that the Windows Voice Recognition actually works and that you have the correct language pack(s). And making sure that all AAO prerequistes are in place (VC redist x64 and x86, .Net 4.8)

I really wish that I could help you more, but this has not happened before. It is something that currently only happens on your PC. It is not only "next to" but "actually" impossible to troubleshoot remotely.

I believe I managed to solve it. The Windows speech language wasn’t set to English by default, since it was still using my native language, even though the system was in English. I downloaded English and completely disabled the other language
