I purchased it just now. My price was discounted to $30.00 in the basket. Didn't have to do anything else.

Unfortunately, won't have time to fly it until tomorrow evening.

Is PMDG going to punish the impatient? I purchased the 737-800 for MSFS 2020 from Market Place, so am eligible for a discounted price. If PMDG were smart they would delay the release of the 737 on Market Place to try to get as many direct buyers as possible. This will increase revenue and profits. It would also prompt impatient simmers like me to pay full price at PMDG instead of waiting for the discounted and upgrade price on Market Place. This is merely an early access fee. 

I must be blind--I can't find any actual release announcement on the PMDG forums. I only own the 700 in MSFS and I see no discount on the new version when logged into my account and putting it in the cart. Have they talked about when the 700 will be released?

Try deleting it from your cart and re-adding.

Does not work, tried all that.

And the more I think about this is that, despite what was communicated earlier, it actually would make more sense to allow a previous -700 owner to upgrade to -800 with a similar or perhaps slightly lower discount because, unless i am mistaken, pricewise I have paid the same amount before.

But then they would have no reason to release the updated -700 version later I suppose ..... which is of course an ENTIRELY different product altogether (being sarcastic here)

 

 

I finally found RSR's post from a few days ago where they clarify that you have to have owned the 800 in MSFS in order to get this one at the discount. Oh well, I honestly wasn't that interested for what appears to be a minor upgrade anyway.

Some people most definitely got the discount despite only having owned the 700 in 2020. Whether this is a bug or error on their part, or something else, I can't say. But it is a confirmed fact. Multiple credible users on this forum have reported it.

Yep, I also had an issue trying to create a ticket, kept telling my I had an incorrect email address format. I was finally able to get a ticket out via OC3.

Yeah I have the 700 and 900... no discount applied. Logged in, out, cart, delete etc. Might try again later. Then again, just bought a large/expensive ship for Star Citizen so maybe I will wait. 😄

Anyone know when expected to hit marketplace?

Well, 30 isn't that bad. I just spent 150 upgrade for a spaceship so its alright by me. Glad to have a Boeing again besides the 777. 

I have a very odd failure going on.

After engine start as I advance the throttles to 30% N1 it takes about 10 seconds for the N1 to drop to zero and an orange MSFS own warning message to pop up that says:

Your engines have failed.

What the...???
