So their CEO, RSR lied to the whole community. In no place is a couple cups of coffee that amount. Never seen a more anti-PR driven company that loves to fleece the sim community. Done with that company.

Looks like Randazzo has kicked up a firestorm in the flight sim community with the upgrade priced at $30 USD.  Quite a few Reddit threads are being upvoted to the top of r/flightsim and r/microsoftflightsim:

Also at the r/MicrosoftFlightSim subreddit:

The comments are also very negative at the FSElite article on this release.

The thing that makes me LMFAO is all the dudes saying they’re gonna run out and buy the iFly for $70 instead of taking the $30 deal from PMDG. Like, you didn’t get a free upgrade so NOW you’re going to spend more than TWICE as much on another addon…? 😂

it’s totally fine to vehemently disagree with a paid upgrade, but those guys are just cutting their nose to spite their face.

Almost as bad as the guys who’re bemoaning the “monopoly” and lack of competition. THEY take the cake 🤣

basically yes and I agreed if there was not that "coffee comparison" made before.

(1) With or without that coffee comparison, it's their decision how to price the full package. full stop. and it is in range of the usual suspects for the full product. all good, whether people like it or not. and dinner with my wife was recently twice as much in a nice Italian restaurant with each 2 glasses of wine. the 737 will last longer than a meal - wish I could say this about my wife 🙂

(2) Without that coffee comparison, even the update fee of 30 bucks would be ok (to me, at least), again their decision. And yes, I got it since it is a fraction of what I would have paid at that Italian place for another dinner.

(3) However, with that coffee comparison, they obviously raised wrong expectations regarding the update fee as "buy me a coffee" elsewhere is usually not beyond 10 bucks. And a typical triple grande frappe latte seldom exceeds 10bucks.

Anyway, just saying that I tend to understand those complaining about (3). and TBH even more now that PMDG is ducking away and seemingly banning posts and posters who are trying to understand where RSR gets his 30bucks coffee from.

to me that is childish but from PMDG.

just my 2 cents, going back now to the 738 for landing at EGNM soon...

Well lucky me it’s just over 20 quid UK so I’ll not have to cut my nose off to spite my face by purchasing something different for a change.

Reading your frantic post with your smilies and LMFAO comment conjures up an image that does make me smile however.

If I was not facing the prospect of having to shell out the full £70 for a copy of MSFS 2024, I would have been very tempted to buy the 800 package at full price.

Anyone know when expected to hit marketplace?

And let that unknown be your lesson to only buy add-ons direct from the manufactuter. The wait is going to torture you worst than being in purgatory.

Judging by rsrandazzos language and approach towards one of his customers here, I'd suggest the children are at PMDG. If this is accurate and not AI generated (and I've no reason to think it is) then I'm done with PMDG.

I can buy a lot of Juan Valdez coffee for that money! Anyway, I have the whole fleet in MSFS2020 (all purchased in the Marketplace) and P3D. I guess this time I'll do with the -800 only, and use 2020/P3D for the rest of them. I have better uses for the money I'd need to upgrade the whole 737 NG fleet.

It's on brand for them these days. They seem to be more.. angry...

Might be pining for the days when users had very few high quality options 😄 Things are different now, and much better for customers.
