December 15, 2025Dec 15 Hi all, it is starting to annoy me. I have massive screen flickering since SU4, especially visible in the menues but also in the game if FPS are not absolutely constant. It looks like the known VRR-bug some OLEDs have, but I do not use an OLED, neither had I an issue with it prior SU4. Strange enought that I seem to be one of only few, as I did not find any report about it somewhere else. I have a nVIDIA card, use a G-Sync compatible monitor and G-sync active in both windowed and fullscreen mode. Could it be the current driver? December 15, 2025Dec 15 Not using fSR by any chance? 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
December 15, 2025Dec 15 Author Nope, nVIDIA DLSS and nVIDIA frame gen. Switched to fast sync via nVIDIA App, now it is better... Greetings, Chris AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 2x32GB DDR5 6000MT/s RAM, MSI RTX 4090 Ventus 3X, Windows 11 Home, MSFS2024

I would try with everything set to default first. Then turn on the DLSS and framegen and other settings one at a time. Maybe some combination isn't working. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
December 15, 2025Dec 15 I did read that Nvidia have some issues with DLSS4 and framegen, so it could be worth reverting back to DLSS3 if you are using it. December 15, 2025Dec 15 I’ve encountered this issue, I don’t use DLSS/FG. Issue is more pronounced at night and when I switch from Full Screen to window mode (Alt+Enter). nVidia latest drivers also. Not related to OLED and my monitor is less than 1 year old. It my case it seems to be related to the autoexposure process in MSFS 2024 (only app/game this happens with) … as if the compensation gets into a hysteresis state due to threshold that triggers exposure compensation going back and forth with adjustments which translates to a flicker. What I noticed is that instrument lights (warning light) that flash provide just enough brightness that it triggers autoexposure compensation. January 12Jan 12 Author Any news on this. I cant get rid of it, no matter what I set in NV App, ProfileInspector, DLSS, FG... it simply stays... Greetings, Chris AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 2x32GB DDR5 6000MT/s RAM, MSI RTX 4090 Ventus 3X, Windows 11 Home, MSFS2024
January 12Jan 12 Do you have AMD FidelityFX Sharpening disabled? I read somewhere that setting that to a minimum of 10 fixes the flashing. I had it at 0 and I was having these flashes but after I set it to 10 the flashes went away. As always, YMMV. I also read somewhere that if you set Motion Blur to "Low" that fixes it. I haven't tried that one yet. January 12Jan 12 Turning off Bloom also stops the flashing. Gary M. | PPL ASEL | System Specs: W11 Pro, Corsair 4000X Mid Tower, Z790 Aorus Master Motherboard, i9-13900KF, 64 GB DDR5 SRAM, RTX 4090, Dell AW3821DW Monitor, Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo, MFG Crosswind Pedals, TrackIR
January 12Jan 12 Author The problem is: it all started with SU4. Never had bloom off, motion blur I have always off. FidelitySharpening never only on 0. So why the heck I should suddenly need to turn off bloom? Will try, but I doubt it will help. Thanks anyway... January 12Jan 12 Just suggestions, they work for me and maybe they will work for you. Oh, I forgot to mention that I am using 2020, not 2024. January 12Jan 12 I had a similar effect all of a sudden, after deleting the DX shader cash files manually. I re-installed the NVidia driver and all is now back to normal. January 12Jan 12 I'm having mega flickering occasionally in flight, over bits of terrain. And apparently Rex Atmos is the culprit. It happens fairly rarely though, about once every couple of hours.
January 12Jan 12 Author interesting. And did you clean the shader files after reinstalling the driver? The latest driver? Greetings, Chris AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 2x32GB DDR5 6000MT/s RAM, MSI RTX 4090 Ventus 3X, Windows 11 Home, MSFS2024
