EDIT: I also, verified the files in Orbx Central. It confirmed it is installed but I don't see a folder or files for it.

You will need to be looking inside the "Community" folder for a folder named "xbaw-soundset-737".

Wait, what? If one can't tell if the sound package is installed just by listening then why is one even bothering to install the sounds? Why is it necessary to confirm installation if there's so little difference

Thanks.

To make a comparison there has to be at least two separate items, or a before or after. Put another way, how do you compare a single number if you only have that one number and no other number exists to compare it with?  To determine if the number is smaller or larger than another number there has to be another number.

Is it not reasonable to assume that when the airplane was first installed that it also installed the default sound files and that these soundfiles were the one's heard when first loaded ?

I would think this to be perfectly reasonable and there is your "other number", to sate your argument.

Yes. When I installed the aircraft there is only one sound and you are absolutely correct, "these soundfiles were the one's heard when first loaded".

But what do I compare it with?

Thank you. I found the the xbaw-soundset-737 folder, in the Community folder in MSFS 2020 (Windows 10 - old pc), but not in MSFS 2024  Community folder (Windows 11 - new pc). Also, does the soundset show up in the Marketplace for MSFS 2024? I ask because I searched and couldn't locate it in the Marketplace for MSFS 2024.

Your picture of Orbx Central is telling you that it is in the MSFS 2024 Community folder.

You could try "Verify files" and see if it returns.

The product is not available in the Marketplace:

Thank you. It's fixed.

Apparently, it might have had something to do with the bug I submitted to Microsoft tech support. In My Library in 2024, after an update, the aircraft was Ready to Install, but the Install button was not working even after a reboot. That's fixed now and with that fixed I was able to install the Boris soundset. So I'm good now.

One thing I can say about MSFS tech support, they were very responsive.

I see you're sorted, good.

However the point being made by myself and @jrw4 is that if you have to physically see that the Boris sound files are actually installed rather than easily hearing the improvement then installing them in the first place is made somewhat redundant.

EG. :- If I install a visual addon, say some scenery, then I would expect to see the improvements, the exact same should be able to be said about audio addons, ie. you should be able to hear the improvements.  In both cases it should not be neccessary to actually look for the files to check if it has been installed.
