December 31, 2025Dec 31 I have been running the Reality XP Garmin 750 for XPlane 12 for many years without a hitch. Several weeks ago, I started up the program and there were no databases in the GTN 750. A black screen. I spent some time troubleshooting this with no luck so uninstalled the Garmin product data thinking I would simply reinstall everything. When I run the Installer program for my GTN 750. I get about half way though and get an error screen stating Install failed. Errors A newer version of Garmin Trainer Database is already installed Fatal error during installation. Error code 0x80070643 There are some log files that I can not find. I have tried everything I can think of to solve this, but no luck. Any help appreciated.
January 1Jan 1 It's the perils of trying to install a long-outdated version of the Garmin trainer, I think. The RXP developer has done a runner on the community once again...he hasn't graced his support forum with his presence in well over 2 years now. An alternative (and much better) solution is the TDS Garmin GTN750Xi/GTN650Xi gauge package for XPlane 11/12. It is actively supported, it's database can be updated and kept current with each AIRAC cycle with Navigraph data, and it has a legacy mode where it can be used as a drop-in replacement for the RXP gauge in most panels. January 12Jan 12 Author Bob thank you very much. This explains everything. I have become so frustrated with the RXP software and was hoping there was another solution, perhaps using Navigraph data. I will look for this today and install. I generally fly airplanes and use my flight sim for training in poor weather like now, so I am a little rusty on these issues. Perhaps you would be so kind as to outline how I would find and install the TDS Garmin Package on my flight sim, in case I can not figure it out. I haver a RealSim Gear stand alone 750 unit with autopilot so I am hoping to be able to use this with the new package. Any instructions regarding this would also be welcome. Thank you vary much for your time and expertise. J Pietrolungo

I then found the TDS software and downloaded it. It all went well but when I went to use it in X Plane, there were no databases listed. I double checked everything, downloaded the various programs to interface with both X Plane and MSFS 2020 ( I use this rarely), but wanted to have it if possible. The Navigraph data seems to work in MSFS 2020, at least with a PMS50 free GTN Navigator I downloaded. Working on some solutions to the no database issues in XP now. Any ideas, I'm listening. Thanks J Pietrolungo
