What sort of AI Traffic FSHud has now? Is it AIG related OR real life schedules? How about sequencing on arrival? Does it take into account FS2024 24hr historic weather?

  • I would mention FSHud as a major competitor for ATC programs as well.

Complaining? You  mean in this thread? I don't see that, in fact it's quite a good thread reading all the experiences. Hard to keep track of all the latest updates, so it's nice to read from other peo

I have flown with BATC and FSHud. I prefer FSHud.

I use FSHud with AIG Traffic & Active Sky and yes, it does support Historical Weather. The benefit it provides with AIG is that you do not need to use the AIG Traffic Controller, AIG handles all that perfectly on it's own as well as traffic separation on the ground and in the air. On descent FSHud seems true to Altitude constraints but at times does issue unusual vectoring to final. I usually ignore FSHud and keep to a STAR or  vector myself (after all it's just a Sim). FSHud is constantly being updated and improved, I'm happy using it for my purpose though!

I'm not sure I understood what software does sequencing - FSHud or AIGTC? Would appreciate, if you can elaborate on it.

Also, does AIG schedule play any role OR FFhud uses it's own database, similar to BATC does.

Thanks!

AIG only provides the models. You do not run the AIGTC, you just copy the models into the community folder.

FSHud manages whatever models are available to use. Having AIG + FsTraffic + FSLtl + Native models is the most comprehensive set of models (of varying quality, but that doesn't matter so much), and thus FSHud can perform the highest level of model matching.

FSHud does not depend on AIG schedules in any way.

This is my understanding, but of course, as the developer,  @FSHud will be the definitive word on this subject.

No, you don't. You leave them where the AIG Manager stored them and FSHUD will find them there.

Yes. And AIG Manager stores them either in the Community Folder or else puts a symbolic link to the real location.

The point remains the same: you do NOT need anything from AIG except the models. You can download the model pack from Github instead of using the AIG Manager and it will work exactly the same as if you download using the AIG Manager.

I will try to clarify a few things regarding schedules, sequencing, and traffic sources. First, let’s separate what these terms mean:

Schedules – Information that includes the departure airport, destination airport, planned departure/arrival times, aircraft callsign, and aircraft title/livery.
FSHud receives this information from different sources (MSFS live traffic, AIG/BGL, and APIs).
FSHud does not include its own flights database, because we believe this responsibility should remain with traffic add-ons—there are many on the market (AIG, FSLTL, FSTraffic, or the default MSFS traffic).

Sequencing – This is entirely handled by FSHud. Even if the schedule data is imperfect (for example, a hypothetical case where 100 traffic aircraft are scheduled to land at exactly the same time), FSHud is responsible for sequencing those aircraft and spacing them out one after another. Naturally, this can create significant differences between scheduled times and actual operating times.

Traffic aircraft flight plan and performance – All the detailed parts of how an aircraft executes its schedule—including flight plan generation and controlling/piloting AI traffic from gate to gate—are entirely handled by FSHud, based on the schedule data it receives from the traffic sources.

Thanks a lot for the detailed and simple explanation.

I understand that FSHud doesn't yet support GA flights (an IFR flight has to be produced by Simbrief), but does it have GA traffic flying around?

TIA.

FSHud is completely agnostic as to whether a flight is airline-operated, military, or general aviation.
As long as the flight data that FSHud receives includes a schedule (as mentioned in the previous message), it will inject and control the aircraft accordingly—even if it’s a Cessna 172 flying from airport A to airport B.

The only rule is that all flights must be operated under IFR — and it’s important to note that VFR is not the same thing as GA. GA describes the type of operation, while IFR/VFR are flight rules; GA flights can be flown under either IFR or VFR.

Be interesting to know what your flightplans for those 3 flights were please?

First one was somewhere from the south, up to KMRY (don't remember where I left from).  Got a descent clearance into the rocks.

Second one was KLGB - KHHR.  Vector to a 90 degree intercept.

Third one was KGEG - KSEA.  Pulled off the GLASR arrival and dropped on an infinity downwind and shipped to tower.

The program simply does not work.  It's wild to me that people just overlook things like this.

I just purchased MSFS2024 and watching traffic in KLAS...so far it looks good. I have a question about difference between 3 options in settings - AIG, BGL and External.

TIA

Well, BATC was better for me today. When it is good it is real good. Let’s see what tomorrow brings.
