"Your Bandwidth is too low" - MSFS 2024

I got that constantly with 2020 and have had it once, in September, with 2024

Yes, I do recall seeing this more often in MSFS2020, but definitely have seen it a few times in MSFS2024 too...

It just comes and goes ...with that distracting pop-up on the screen ...I've now trained my brain to ignore it ...🙂...

I have yet to see that message in MSFS 2024. Long may that continue

For me the fix was to get into my router using it's settings to change it from 2.4 GHz to 5GHz. I can't tell you why that worked but it has freed me from the cursed blue cable...

Seen this a few times in 2024 recently. Wonder if shutting off of (2) west coast servers is related to this?

On a hardwire 1gig connection and I'm plagued with this issue every so often. Seems to be more frequently in the evening time. My internet connection is fine. Even had Comcast come out and verify everything. They upgraded the modem, checked the lines... all is good. Did a 14 hour flight from OTHH-KJFK without any issues yesterday into this morning. This evening I'm logging in and getting this message.

Ironically, this message appeared several times over the weekend. However, I was testing a new wifi extender that uses the house electrical system to boost the wifi signal from the router downstairs. Unfortunately, that does not appear to be working. The wifi connection can get up to 300Mbps, but it is not very reliable (as those messages demonstrated). As I was approaching runway 10 at LEAL Alicante yesterday, I noticed that some of the terrain textures were low resolution, and then I saw low resolution runway textures for the very first time!

Thankfully, my 100Mbps ethernet connection (using the original Wifi extender) is rock solid.

Wifi through the house electrical system is the last thing one should use. Loss in speed can go up to 90% depending on which circuit you plug in the extenders. Even on the same circuit, loss can get up to 40-50%.

The ethernet connection through that wifi extender is very reliable. In the end, 95Mbps and rock solid is a word not allowed sight better than scattershot 300!!

It looks like “Long may that continue…” was promptly debunked by MSFS…🙂

Anyway, an extender has yielded in my case very reliable connection making up for signal loss…to remote locations far from the source router downstairs…

It was almost certainly caused by messing about with that new wifi extender. I cannot blame Microsoft for this one
