By 'ported' do you mean manually copied over the files?  Because if you're referring to the MS / Hans Hartmann ATR that should not be necessary.   I bought the ATR in 2020 when released.  When I moved to 2024, the ATR was available as 'compatible' in my 2024 library.

PS.. the MS / HH ATR has to be one of the worst / missed potential addons in MSFS.  It is so clumsy and awkward to fly.   Flight dynamics feel so wonky and it's packed full of bugs.   If HH had persisted with developing it, I bet it could have been a great aircraft by now.  He did make some great addons in FSX.

About once per year I always think to myself hmm, I wonder what the ATR is like now.  I reinstall it, try one flight and always exit the flight in relative disgust and uninstall within 5 mins of being airborne!

I meant which developer. Aerosoft? „My ATR“ is a little vague to help and I do not deny that you own it btw

Thus I tried to find out from OP which „his ATR“ version is. Haven‘t flown it myself for ages though

…there’s only one ATR for MSFS. Your first comment came off as arrogant.

Apologies then. I know the ATR from Aerosoft and was/am under the Impression there is an Asobo one, too

There is no ATR from Aerosoft. There is only one from Asobo.

Could it be that you might be thinking about the "CRJ" for MSFS that was developed by Aerosoft?

As pointed out above, there is only one ATR (-42/-72) by Asobo available from MSFS2020 (and flyable in MSFS2024). The common denominator is however the developer, Hans Hartmann, who was the developer for both the CRJ and ATR for MSFS.

Hans Hartmann, of course, is the well-known figure from our earlier SIMs (such as for the FSX/P3D CRJ by Aerosoft and the famous Flight1 ATR) ...

I understand that there are some missing aspects in the MSFS2020 ATR that detracts from full enjoyment, but I personally, as an average simmer...🙂..., have found it enjoyable to fly, both in MSFS2020 and MSFS2024, and, after all, this is the only choice now in the SIM of this RW regional workhorse ... (see one picture of it below from one of my flights in MSFS2024; this is an ATR 42-300) ...

This aircraft is rather rare among U.S. commercial carriers, and I do not recall ever flying in it domestically, but I've flown a few times in it in Asia-Pacific countries...indeed a versatile and competent (turboprop) transporter ...looks impressive too ...🙂...

Indeed. Sorry to mix these up

Is the ATR for 2024 the same as for 2020, with all its errors and problems?

13600KF - AIO - 32GB DDR4 - RTX4070 - UW1440p GSync - USB DAC - 2TB NVMe - Windows 11 Pro - Gladiator NXT EVO - 1 Gbps Fiber  - MSFS 2024

Yes, IIRC Jorg did say in one of the streams that it would be updated for 2024 but there is no date for that.

I believe "DAD" is thinking of the Aerosoft DH6-300, a similar high wing aircraft.  Because I use Air Hauler I've been flying the ATR-42 in MS2000 for years and have experienced very few problems with the aircraft but perhaps my expectations are much lower.

I used to fly it in MSFS2020 every now and again, but it isn't the easiest of aircraft to fly in real life - there's a RL pilot does a Youtube series in quite a bit of detail...it seems to be an 'acquired taste'.

I've just enabled it in MSFS2024 and I can't see much different to 2020. The only glitch I can specifically see is that the EFB will not accept your Simbrief ID - the 'Enter' on the input pad doesn't appear to work - but that may well have been the case in 2020 too.

Setting the throttle is a little challenging and the power/prop management is not intuitive (in the real aircraft) but it's not a bad aircraft for 'here's something different'.
