January 28Jan 28 Interesting ... from Asobo I take it ... wonder how it compares to the San Francisco Cityscape I have from Orbx? Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. - Carl Sagan

Might want to take some screenshots of SamScene3D first and then compare with Asobo ... some of the terrain resolution and buildings look worse than SamScene3D based on that video. January 28Jan 28 Do I need to have PG enabled to see the full impact of improvement from this Update, or will it look better even with PG disabled, which is typical for myself…? Thanks.
January 28Jan 28 Author Just took off from KSBA flying up the coast - I'm guessing the world and his wife are flying here at the moment as performance is pretty bad. I might try again tomorrow. edit - pausing to type that seems to have helped a little. Thanks. Yes, because it’s a photogrammetry update I don’t see any mentions of hand crafted POI not sure if you need the update for updated elevation maps. Edited January 28Jan 28 by Tuskin38
January 28Jan 28 I wonder if LA finally matches the 2024 trailer lol Also they fly right over Apple HQ in the trailer. That’s the circular building that takes up most of the shot Edited January 28Jan 28 by Tuskin38

City Update in California? Again this region updated? This clearly shows that for certain regions, Microsoft can source data effortlessly. It's a reality. This stands in stark contrast to the rest of the world, where recent mapping data (let alone photogrammetry) is either nonexistent, incomplete, or restricted by governments. It’s a shame considering how vast the rest of the world is, but it's the reality for a developer trying to build a 'digital twin' on our PCs and consoles Edited January 28Jan 28 by vbazillio Vincent B. January 28Jan 28 Sounds like a really big one, though photogrammetry for most of California was already in the sim. I'm guessing that this has been improved, updated and created with TIN. I will enable and try the major cities with and without Samscene later. Looking forward to this in one of the areas I teally like to fly. Vincent - I guess we will have to check all your recently upgraded airports to see if they are all correctly aligned now as well as any payware airports we have.
