Wow! You have an impeccable memory. My first widebody experience was on an Air Canada 747. My second widebody experiece was on an Air Canada L1011. A mind blowing experiece after flying on Air Canada

From my point of view it's a shame it's a -500. In another life I worked for Court Line and Gulf Air, and they had -1/-100s, not -500s. I flew the Capt Sim version a lot, and really enjoyed it. Anybody who buys this will surely enjoy it a lot; it's a fabulous airoplane, way ahead of its time.
I'm waiting for the JF A300, another that I had real-life dealings with.

Fair point. I don't think there will be a HUD on the (iniBuilds) L-1011, but I presume, you own the A350...🙂...?

Frankly, I always bring up the HUD in the cockpit, but probably not making much use of it, except for (supplementary) visual reference, "heads-up and eyes-out"...in the final approach phase.

When I was flying the 737-600, which, I don't think originally came with a HUD, I still, liked to activate it in the (PMDG) Equipment list.

HUD is indeed a nice feature.

Day 1 purchase as my first and only L-1011 flights (with my now wife of 29 years) were on ATA “thermometer” examples between Milwaukee and Las Vegas on our honeymoon.  No idea which version, sadly.  But I’d never been on a widebody before, and remember how incredibly huge (and ancient, even then) it seemed - and that rounded back wall of bathrooms.

Our first house was in Rockford, IL lined up with one of the runways and one AM before work circa 1999 or so a “palm tree”’example came in on final approach right above our house - no idea what that was about, but very cool.

What's wrong with the HUD?

I rarely use it, but the times I do I never noticed anything wrong. But I'm not an expert on 350 HUDs so...

So in his assessment of his regret, he ignores every single, solitary aspect of the aircraft... except the HUD.    I get it that the HUD may be borked but to talk for 8 minutes solely about the HUD being off, in a video entitled "I bought the Ini A350..... instant regret" (no mention of the HUD) seems a little narrow-focussed.

@James Driscoll

Yes, @alanw2005 has started a thread specifically on A350 HUD with the same video.

No RW pilot here, but I do not actively use it much frankly, though I did read about the specific issues and inaccuracies, on line.

I was using (and enjoying) the 737-600 for months, before I realized that PMDG has provided the EFB as an optional feature in the Equipment list. The original -600 didn’t have one, I think.

Anyway, per a recent comment by @Tuskin38, the fixes are on the short-term fix list of iniBuilds.

Let’s see.

BTW, I agree it’s a nice and novel feature to have in our SIM’s modern airliners.

I know they were the launch customer for the -1 but I demand (/s) an Eastern Airlines livery even though they never flew the -500.

Thanks for reminding of Eastern, and their L-1011s... a premier classic American airline of the bygone days...Here below is the Just Flight livery, I recall well (and used to fly).

I'm quite sure, one of our repainters would provide you with a (fictitious) livery repaint for the iniBuilds L-1011, in the Eastern colors.

Indeed, Eastern Air Lines flew a massive fleet of 44 TriStars (-1/-100/-200), besides been the launch customer.

As soon as I saw that over dramatic thumbnail with his face in his hands I told YouTube I was not interested in the video so I’d never see it again.

Someone on Flightsim.TO will probably do it Eric, but the way to go is for ini to do the whole series hopefully, if the 500 sells well enough.
Certainly I would buy the whole series if they did it and the price was reasonable.
