ON - it's only good if your internet connection is good to load it in quick enough though. Slow internet is usually the cause for the 'melted buildings' look.

People say this, but I'm not sure I agree.  In the first place, in my own situation: I have gig Internet and live on the west side of Puget Sound.  Several MS executives and plenty of team members hav

I have melted PG with ~900 Mbps up and down. Your own Intenet connection speed is all you can check, anything happening upstream is beyond your control.  I'd love to see how PG works in Asobo's lab.

EDIT: Preliminary results at this stage, but 22% is a significant number in my opinion.

I'm ready to bet it will roughly conclude to the same figure as the same survey in 2024.

a better taste of reality. Of course, nothing perfect and I struggling with blocks of trees, bridges...

What is troublesome for me is seasonal vegetation, at least in SU4 and before, doesn't reflect changes during fall and winter as a deciduous trees have full leaves even during winter , at least where I am flying.  So I'm using PG when that doesn't come into play.

Oh? I have another issue, maybe opposite. On my sceneries - that I test with MSFS2024 these days - the underlying satellite image is mostly green/summer and vegetation object on top are free of leaves. The contrast between the object and the ground image is not the most pleasant.

Thank you for your work on various airports Vincent.  I'm curious:  do you live in Paris?  If so, what is your motivation to work on small airports in the US?  I installed KPGA yesterday--I stayed there on a road trip once so it was fun to explore that area in MSFS 2024.  I did notice the runway numbers didn't match BATC's calls for runways.   Thank you kindly again, Vincent ;o)

Always on, no matter if I fly VFR or IFR. I'm rarely dispointed.

If the goal is to use msfs24 without photogrammetry, better install back FSX or P3D.

Well, I tried to activate it again while flying an approach in Tokyo Haneda along the cityskape. Hoped the look would be better than generic buildings but as previous users said, all was melted and therefore ugly. Maybe due to internet connection, but the setting will remain OFF in my case.

Experiment by taking off from Fort Lauderdale (KFLL) with PG on.  NO PALM TREES.  Then, turn PG off and voila!  Palm trees in Florida!  I usually fly with PG on, but it's obvious that it does NOT represent flora realistically at all.

Yes, I ponder, if by trying to improve MSFS2024 w/o PG enabled, are we effectively trying to get back to our FSX/P3D days of (autogen) scenery rendition, even with the best of Orbx included therein?

My FSX PC with all my a/c and most of the Orbx scenery (regions and airports), is ready to go, in the basement...so, no need to install. However, I’m not going back there. I already (seriously) tried it once during MSFS2024, and just couldn’t bear the sight of it.

At the same time, though I’m (mostly) an airliner enthusiast, I occasionally like to use PG, for my final approach into e.g., LGA, LCY, ORD etc., while flying over the skylines, to get a feeling of the RW.

It always puzzles me why PG appears excellent for some of us, and for some, absolutely unacceptable.

Having spent many years in the Screenshots Forum here, I’ve indeed seen proof of wonderful PG imagery in the big city areas, from some of the posts. Unfortunately, it’s not so, in my own case.

Off topic (and my only reply here): I live in Paris, but was fortunate enough to fly (a lot for an European PPL) from San Diego, CA. I was member of Plus One flying club and rent dozens of times, Cessna 172 for trips with pilots friends and/or my own familly for vacations there. Up north to  Canada (Vancouver) all along west coast as well as Yellowstone, Monument Valley, Las Vegas, Sedona...and all the famous spots in Southern California. Flew also in Caribean, Florida, and New York, Quebec, St-Pierre & Miquelon (far french territories). As airports I practized and loved, as a simple private pilot, wasn't recreated properly in MSFS I did my best to fill the gap. As an amateur. Glad you enjoy!

Since August'25, the runway 15/33 is now 16/34.  The runway 7/25 is also definitely closed. My freeware scenery is up to date 😉 BATC isn't ?

I recall from your post, Vincent, from a short while ago, of KPGA scenery along with the (updated) runways, in the Screenshots Forum.

You were ahead of the Wiki, AIRAC, BATC and possibly other aviation databases and sources.

I’m not sure, if they have all caught up by now.

The only folks who had kept pace with you were the actual (and local) KPGA Airport Maintenance authorities.

All I ever see is malformed triangle shapes in various spots.  Waste of resources IMO.

enabled, I would consider Auto gen if it was looked into and improved - they have said they are looking to bring it in-house now Black shark is no more.
