I'm over it at this point... It was an amazing plane in the FSX/P3D platforms though and I really miss it's unique complex character.

  • I truly believe we won't ever see a Majestic product in MSFS. The Q400 (from any reputable dev) is a big miss.

  • So, thus far this magic thread has lead to a resurrection of the Majestic Q400…and now the announcement of a top tier 787, all within 24 hours. Quick, someone make another wish…..

Let there be a Tupolev tu154m, let there be a Tu 154m for the sim.... woooosh!

Well, I know someone who is working on the Tu-154 for XP if that counts ?

The Q400 is an integral part of Canadian aviation

Absolutely!  I see Q400s all the time flying to and from YVR ... and as a passenger I've flown on plenty myself over the years.

I'd thoroughly enjoyed my visit to San Antonio, around Christmas time, along with that famous San Antonio River Walk. All that part of the city, including the trees alongside the river, were decorated with lights.

Darn! I was in San Antonio in December 2024 for about a week to attend an ACTE conference, but I didn't know that there was an Air Museum there. I would have loved to see it.

Anyway, the San Antonio River Walk was lovely: my hotel was right beside it, and I walked along the river just about every day of the conference and sat outside in the evenings at some of the restaurants along the walk. I even saw the Alamo, though I have to admit that as a Canadian, it's significance was mostly lost on me.

Yes, as aviation fans, we know we would have surely visited it, had we known it beforehand…🙂

Frankly, when I lived in Texas/Austin for just a few years, I didn’t know anything about San Antonio’s aviation history.

However, a native Texan colleague from Chicago, who, btw, also advised me to pack cowboy hats and boots when I moved there…🙂…, filled me in a bit about places of interest, when I asked him for some tips before driving from Austin to San Antonio. The entire stretch of highway was a parking-lot, as I recall, on a bright and (Texas) sunny Saturday afternoon, with back to back traffic, but the visit was worth it.

Ed Swearingen worked with other pioneers and innovators of the time such as Dee Howard and Bill Lear, while developing the initial designs of the pressurized twin turbo-prop Metroliner, later to be Fairchild.

I think it was @regis9 here who had once commented (on one of my FSX posts) that just as the Q400, the Metroliner was widely used in Canada, when he saw my pictures of the Bearskin Airlines from around Ontario, at the opposite end of Canada, compared to where you are…🙂

Both the Q400 and the Metroliner would be highly welcome in MSFS2024.

That certainly sounds like me 😀

So, it was you indeed…🙂…my memory has not failed in this instance…

We have been around here a bit.

Next, I need to find a 737 (or even better, a 747, whenever that arrives…) to fly in the colors of CP Air.

That would attract you to my post, like a magnet…🙂

Good ol' Bearskin airlines.  I flew on one of their flights out of Ottawa to Toronto/Buttonville back in the day on a PC-12.  Such a great airline. Very friendly crew and top notch customer service.  Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

I’m glad the name brought back some nostalgic memories for you.

I always liked those Red Bear Paw prints in the fuselage of the Bearskin Airlines livery.

Actually, you folks up there have lots of bears on your airline liveries…🙂… I’ve been always as much interested in the Canadian airlines, as in the U.S. airlines. Of course, it’s a bit colder up there even compared to Chicago, so, those northern airlines know how to operate in harsh and cold environments.

Cheers…!

I just went and checked and I joined Avsim in 2007!  Wow time flies.

I'm currently getting my CP fix with the FSS 727 and a great repaint for the MD11, but I eagerly look forward to 737-200s and the eventual early 747s!
