Just to clarify, we won't have a stand at FSWeekend. We will be in attendance at the show for the three days (including Friday) and we will be doing a Q&A style chat on the Sunday on stage with FSElite.

More details will be talked about then.

  • Interesting. I'm always cautious when new dev groups appear and try not to get overly excited. Devs like Aerodynamic's, Bluebird and Synaptic Sim come to mind. Still waiting, but hopeful. Wishing

I'm new to this. What's the controversy about GAYA? 🙂

About ten years ago they made EGPH for p3d which they sold through ORBX, - https://orbxdirect.com/product/egph?srsltid=AfmBOor8pY1KSzVqnjOnMFta0iIetyopXF7Uhzv4r2uVQa9YSKhO6Csr - In short it was awful, and after repeated failed promises from Orbx of fixing it nothing transpired and Gaya got themselves a bad name so to try to recover from it they dished out free copies of KOS - LGKO - https://orbxdirect.com/product/gaya-lgko?srsltid=AfmBOorp1ZztqSmX4l1DWBycAjsHNV5ISMEay-cJkRK8uos6-N_rvEMm for nothing for a number of people

Yes, that sounds right. I never had P3D, but I recall GAYA sceneries from FSX, about 10 years or so ago. Maybe, in the (former) FlightSim Pilot Shop, if my memory serves me right.

They seemed to be perpetually on SALE, but not sure I got many (any) of their sceneries.

I wouldn’t have thought they would be such an integral partner of Microsoft, in the new Simulator.

"All Paths Lead to FSWeekend, see you there!"

We couldn’t resist sharing a small sneak peek. Here’s a glimpse of the systems depth currently taking shape behind the scenes. There’s a lot going on here, more to come next week!

We are pleased to announce that we will be attending FSWeekend 2026, taking place at the Lelystad Aviodrome in the Netherlands on March 21–22.

Come and see the live stage Q&A session hosted by FSElite on Sunday March 22 at 11:30am CET.

Can't make it to the show, don't worry you can watch the hosted livestream by FSElite.

I’d guess that 9 out of 10 pilots flying the 787 wouldn’t have seen that maintenance page or know how to find it, being a flight simmer I do because I sit and fiddle with things in the cruise 😉

An incredible depth of system simulation is hinted at by that photo !

Is that maintenance page beyond the complexity and fidelity of the Quality Wings 787 for P3D? Did the Quality Wings 787 have that maintenance page too?

I can't remember 100%, but I think no. QW 787 was more Aerosoft/iniBuilds level

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

No ,the QW 787 was nowhere near that level, as nice as it was in its day.

Of course we shouldn’t make assumptions based on a single photo, and we should know more after next weekend’s flight sim show, but if those maintenance pages and menus are included and functional then we’re looking at something like Aerowinx PSX level.

Wow that’s potentially very exciting then!  I really appreciate your insights into this as that page meant absolutely nothing to me when I first saw it 😂

To be fair the maintenance pages are meant for the engineers not pilots, but there’s a wealth of information you can get off of them, they’re great for analysing faults..if you know how to access them.

You're absolutely right. It's because real pilots have a lot of things, like unpaid loans, unruly children, a nagging wife, and so on. Simmers have only three things: unlimited time, tons of manuals, and the desire to figure everything out. 😉

I was surprised to read this and to learn 787 pilots IRL don't know about the maintenance page. I'd be glad to be on one of your flights knowing you're also a flight sim geek like me!

They are probably vaguely aware of its existence, but I’ve never seen anyone else start delving into the pages to glean information.
It’s something we seasoned 747 guys used to do all the time, but that aircraft ‘s maintenance page wasn’t as complex.
To be fair it’s not covered in line training and I wouldn’t be surprised if they actively discouraged new guys from looking in there, strange things can happen if you don’t know what your doing with certain functions.

Going back many years when ATC Datalink was new I remember one guy on the 747 was messing about with the menus and accidentally told Gander Oceanic he’d been hijacked.😂

If just a fraction of the maintenance pages are displayed it’ll be incredible, we’re talking about individual degree angles of valves etc, imagine a black square EFB but for a highly complex long haul widebody!
