If anyones interested, I have a seperate gmax source file for the pilot. I linked all the parts for animation...hand to arm to elbow to bicept to shoulder, so he can easily be positioned or animated. The zip file has no helmet, but does have a textured face.Just email me and Ill send it to yaodog

Gosh, what a straight man! ;-) ThanksPlease see http://mtco.com/~rsam/TBPublic.htm for additional details on the free gmax TB20GTBobA ProE type of gmaxer.FYI .. I have about 8 hours into a Rockwell Sabreliner 65 that I will finish by Monday. I don't do the gmax, (paint, animations, documentations) so if you drop me an email you can have it. The file is free to you, provided you release the gmax file along with the aircraft. We are rsam@mtco.comThe background for the Saberliner came from one of Mike's favorite books - "THE MODERN CIVIL AIRCRAFT GUIDE" - pages 58 and 59. I will provide that data for you in a jpg.

That's truly good work with such a smooth bubble cockpit. It appears to fit very close to the fuselage. I had to shelve using a bubble on mine because it was too difficult to model. The wing to fuselage transitions are impressive. You can see the progress on my ultralight athttp://www.city-gallery.com/vpilot/ultra.htmlOne big problem I have had is with getting the rounded nose shape smooth and trying to get a nice looking compound curve out of a pulled out cylinder. Any advice welcome. When released it will have a virtual cockpit (I am more interested in this view than the 2D panel) and specialized instrumentation, such as a realistic EIS display. The 2D panel will be nice, but nothing to write home about.I was not going to put a figure in the cockpit, but if anyone can supply me with the GMAX source, I will include one.Steve

You are right, Odog. Lots of talent here. Amazing.Well, I won't actually have a DVC, more of a simple cabin with cocpit. It will mostly consist of textures, since I have very little data on the layout. I also don't want to spend too much time on it, since I want to finish the Saab also. I have been workingon that for almost a year now .Take care,Udo:-wave

Hey,Wow! Thank you...all, Im busting! I love seeing WIPs (work in progress) more than the finished product! I learn more than any tutorial Ive ever seen. I was flamed on another (lame) forum for asking for a wireframe pic...aparently it was not "allowed" because you could learn someone else's STYLE!!! gimmme a break. I thought it was about sharing and learning and leading or something...well I saw Woody was asking about the canopy so here I go....the canopy texture is just basic Gmax...but that pic is FSDS?...I can only give a Gmax solution, select polysClick MEPick a color, like light blue or light yellowgo to OPACITY and run it down to 50 or 60, Viola'...doneThe wing fillets and the canopy were a new experiment on this model...both very easy.My goal on this proj. was try to make the fuse, wings, and tail all one element.the fillet was created by moving verts into a bevel between the fuse and the wing...then...select the polys around the wing and fuse...then...in the Modifier stack select Mesh Smooth... Uncheck Apply to whole mesh...go to Iterations and enter 1...and it smooths it all out, but if your mesh is not clean, it will actually rip holes in it!Oh yeah...to cut the canopy all I did was make a box and move it into place, and Boolean...ahhh...Cut, or subtraction.(sorry) Play around with Boolean, and youll figure it out...very powerful tool!have a look..."dont steal my style man...." -sarc-sorry about the lame tuut...e-me if you need more confusing!odog
