A mystery or unknown never seen biz jet is parked near me

Anyone know the name of this aircraft?  Is it real and has anyone come across one?

That's the Diamond D-Jet.  Never got past the prototype stage due to the Great Recession of 2008.

More interestingly, who has developed the model?  And do all third party aircraft show in the sim like this without a default alias, or is it something that has to be set up?

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

It's all Asobo default AI aircraft.

I don't know who actually modeled it.  Probably Lakshya as they did most of the default in house Asobo aircraft.

IIRC, some are Asobo, some are made by Gaya.

If you look at the folder structure, any folder with the microsoft- prefix is content by a contracted third party company, any with the asobo- prefix is done internally at Asobo.

The Djet's folder starts with asobo-, so it's an internally made model.

It's a nice looking one engine biz jet. I asked AI if an add-on can be developed. It's reply:
...(interesting)...

What You’ll Need to Build the D‑Jet

To create a high‑fidelity D‑Jet, you’ll need to build or approximate:

Flight Model

  • Wing geometry (from photos + scaling)

  • Airfoil approximations

  • Estimated thrust curves for the Williams FJ33‑4A‑19

Systems

  • FADEC logic (estimated)

  • Electrical system (Diamond‑style)

  • Pressurization (based on prototype specs)

3D Model

  • Exterior from photos & measurements

  • Cockpit from prototype images

  • G1000‑style avionics (or custom avionics if you want realism)

If You Want, I Can Help You Build a Plan

I can generate for you:

  • A complete development roadmap for creating the D‑Jet in MSFS

  • A list of all known D‑Jet specs from public sources

  • A Diamond‑style systems architecture you can adapt

  • A starter MSFS aircraft package structure

  • A flight model baseline based on the FJ33 engine and prototype performance

Just tell me how deep you want to go — high‑level planning or full technical breakdown.

Lol

I've seen quite a few B1900's on the tarmac recently.

 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2  - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base

I've seen a variety of GA planes lately also. Their tail numbers begin with AS-.

Would be great to ask that system to develop and release the plane for MSFS / MSFS2024 instead of helping to build a plan, wait! the human devs then won't get jobs!

No worries. There will be plenty of jobs for the Bug Busters.
