March 29Mar 29 absolute number one is lack of tree clearance on final approaches, and trees actually in the under-run When I can see an object in the ortho photo and there’s no 3D object to cover it up. Trees, bushes, drainage culverts, utility buildings, POL tanks, ponds/lakes, parking lots, parked AIRPLANES, etc. Hangars with closed doors. Lack of ground clutter. spawning in a covered shelter and ending up on top of the roof Marked helipads that are really just painted grass. And I can’t remember the last time I saw a radar antenna spinning…
March 29Mar 29 Missing grass on some airports, shimmering buildings, and double windsocks. These things drive me nuts! 😀 MSFS

The new Bing photoscenery for the airport has alternate brown and green areas. The green areas have lovely 3D procedural grass on them. The brown areas look like smooth flat plastic Add to that the fact that IniBuilds have still not corrected the misalignment of the runway centreline markings (a full eighteen months after I first mentioned it to them), and the end result is an airport experience that I struggle to enjoy at the moment. That's terrible...they just don't care huh? The other day someone reported a helicopter object in my Napa scenery was a little too big...I had it fixed and updated within a day, and that's freeware. iniBuilds needs to get their act together for paying customers! 😑
March 29Mar 29 Author To be fair, I have a lot of good quality airports from IniBuilds that I enjoy, and they have corrected other stuff that I messaged them about. I just do not understand why they cannot sort the runway centreline markings at EGHI Southampton. Is it really that difficult? March 29Mar 29 Most developers seem to make airports and not update them when the real one gets a new terminal or runway. Marco D'Agostino

It's a flight simulator, not 'take a walk to the lounge, food court, and sit at your gate' simulator. I can do that in real life. To me the interiors just waste resources and inflate the size of scenery packages with textures that are not necessary. I have to agree also here. I don't really care about what's inside a terminal or jetway. I know flight sim has come a long way since FS98 or FS200. That being said why can't new airport developers get the gate size and parking assignments correct. And I wish they put more effort in the general aviation and cargo side of airports. I'll take that over eye candy being able to see a food court inside a terminal. March 29Mar 29 Author Missing PAPI light and approach light 3D support structures. What on Earth is this all about? I know that it has more to do with Asobo's rendering engine than it does addon airports, but this is a serious issue!! I assume that it has been noted by Asobo/Microsoft. I am just a bit puzzled why it has not yet been resolved. I got a response of "maybe" and years later it still has not been done. Some devs are just "lazy" and they will never get another penny from me. MSFS

March 29Mar 29 Probably for me the biggie is when you get some really nicely modelled features (terminals, hangars, sheds, whatever) but all plonked on top of really rubbish ground ortho. And it's not just airports - lots of other scenery packages do this. Having well modelled buildings sitting on top of something that belongs in FSX or earlier is jarring. March 30Mar 30 Add-on Airports are a total waste of money. I rarely fly to or from the same place more than a couple of times. They are way to expensive to justify this fact. They fall into the same garbage category of the many add-ons that are on the marketplace. The marketplace is fast becoming a polluted mess!
