........If you're willing to make a small mod, go to the aircraft's systems.cfg file and scroll down to the [AUTOPILOT] section.

Anywhere within that section, place these 2 entries:-

pitch_pid_reset_mode=2
roll_pid_reset_mode=2

They reconfigure just the AP engagement logic to engage at the exact servo positions, from when the AP was engaged.

Thanks, I will try that.

    Just because MSFS 2024 is a "new" sim, that does not mean that developers can (or should) re-write every bit of code "from the ground up". The data structures and classes that define the internal oper

    Nobody uses P3D anymore, and according to PMDG, nobody is buying their 2020 addons, so they stopped developing for it.     ini doesn’t build anything for 2020 anymore, the 350 was the last one,

    Question: are you somehow privy to how much “copy & paste” code they’re using to make that assertion…? do you feel the same way about iFly…? If not, then why…? How about Leonardo’s paid

commercially dead is one thing, there are still existing customers who still prefer fs20 over fs24 that paid full price for fs20 737 and 777.

the argument that it's a super burden to support fs20 and fs24 at the same time is bs, others like fenix and tfdi are able to do it and the gauge code base not a rewrite.

PMDG doesn't care about fs20 customers who already paid them.  they talk about the '7xx product line' but in reality it's the fs24 product line.

Your 2020 products still work fine in v2020, so keep using them THERE! 🤙

but don’t expect everything in 2024 to be back-ported for free. I mean, should I still expect updates for P3D v6?

No - that would be ridiculous, right? RIGHT? 😁

The cross platform coding issues have already been addressed.

BUT, Fenix and TFDI can handle it because they only have one plane to support.

PMDG do care about their 2020 customers. It’s just that folks need to have reasonable expectations- especially when it’s time to move forward.

PMDG have never cared about customers otherwise they wouldn't be charging what they done for each new version of sim especially when the same bugs existed over and over again. Called it a rewrite. If they cared they wouldn't of lied about the Triple 7 sounds being new for MSFS then coming out to say they were ported everyone knew straight away they were not new don't treat us like idiots. If they cared they would take feedback onboard from the forum and we all know how that goes.

If you want to go the way of Fenix they have three planes all from the same family still different so that is not an excuse.

depends on what you think is important, so not really.

Everything important to simulating flight is improved in 2024.

Half agree, half disagree with you @UrgentSiesta. PMDG’s business lately - after coming over from P3D to the MSFS market seemed to have changed a little. They do openly communicate that they don’t want to invest into the older platforms anymore. And I gotta say it does seem a little too much about focusing on income and less about what they love doing. No matter what they say.

Unrelated to your comment and just generally want to get this out here:

They are constantly chasing their own tail. Stuck in a viscous circle. Never ending circle… They released the 737 on 2020 after a long time - so then shortly after 2024 got released, while they are already working on the 777. Then all hell broke loose, so then they had to go back and split resources and slow down everything. Then none of the planes are progressing. Only to then release both in succession and everyone would call them half baked at best. Why? Constantly chasing their own tail and can’t catch up with their own development timelines, constantly plagued by unexpected problems, underdelivering and “promises that never came”. We are waiting for the 777 sounds for how long already? And they had just delivered a big revamp for the 737. They gotta speed up because next we are getting a new sim and PMDG will have just finished revamping their stuff only to have to redo it all over again. This way I don’t know how they are ver going to deliver a new plane…

Very fair and constructive criticism.

commercially dead is one thing, there are still existing customers who still prefer fs20 over fs24 that paid full price for fs20 737 and 777.  pmdg said sound and other improvements were forthcoming last year but no more?   and the argument that it's a super burden to support fs20 and fs24 at the same time is bs, others like fenix and tfdi are able to do it and the gauge code base not a rewrite.

pmdg is simply fixated on future cashflow with a quasi-subscription business model.  doesn't care about fs20 customers who already paid them.  they talk about the '7xx product line' but in reality it's the fs24 product line.

I think you are misinterpreting "commercially dead".  It means no new development, no new products for MSFS 2020.  It does not mean they do not support products developed previously for this platform.  If you own a PMDG product, you can go to the OC3 Support page and take a look at the workflow to open a ticket.  In the dropdown to select the simulator where the problem is occurring, MSFS 2020 is very much one of the options among quite a few others.  In the future, they might very well drop support for MSFS 2020 but it will be announced in no uncertain terms and they will not rely on some ambiguous term.

according to the pmdg p.r. person, pmdg is not going to update any fs20 products to fix the old bugs (ex: weird FBW on the 777).  no one is asking for new development or new products in fs20.

The service life of every digital product has to end at some point.

Is it reasonable to still expect further updates for products released 5 years ago, for a platform that has now been replaced?

For all we know, the FBW fixes they've made to the 777 may not even be implementable in 2020.  MSFS2024 has many new systems and aerodynamics parameters, settings and possibilities, that don't exist in 2020.

Hey guys,

I’ve been searching for it but I can’t find that thread about the significant 777 update. Do you all know where it is? No matter what thread I go into, it’s just about msfs 2020 vs 2024 and how pmdg had bad customer service.

FAA: ATP-ME, 737 CA, enough time in the 757/767 to be dangerous 🤠

That guy that annunciates the "glideslope" warning in PMDG aircraft needs to be muzzled. Second only to "don't sink" as the most annoying sound in flight simulation.

PMDG have sold the same titles, let’s see 3 times now, and still there are issues with the 2020 they now have ditched. What do you word not allowed/fangirls of PMDG think gonna happens with 2024 when MS decide to make MS202X? Of course PMDG also find 2024 dead. That company don’t know what taking care of customers means.
And still the textures of the cockpit is brand new.

Don't worry another real airline pilot couldn't tell when Blackbox dippped the nose on departure claimed nothing was wrong.
