Best to keep quiet yourself since you can't accept anything or prove. I love the insults though keep going.

Nobody uses P3D anymore, and according to PMDG, nobody is buying their 2020 addons, so they stopped developing for it.     ini doesn’t build anything for 2020 anymore, the 350 was the last one,

Question: are you somehow privy to how much “copy & paste” code they’re using to make that assertion…? do you feel the same way about iFly…? If not, then why…? How about Leonardo’s paid

I don't like 2024, and I can't do anything about it. For example, when I watch replays, I'm annoyed by the random smoke from the landing gear during landing. I periodically launch 2024, but then immediately revert to 2020. And yes, at the beginning of the discussion, someone said it was stupid to ask for something for 2004 in 2009, so I flew 2004 until 2018.

As I’ve said elsewhere, I earn my paycheck in the development biz.

So my comments to you, and similar to those from several others here, aren’t “insults”, they’re observations

Come on lads, as flight simmers, we have a lot more in common than we have apart 😎

Yeah, let's all agree that PMDG rehashed stuff..got caught out..then had to do something to actually fix it otherwise they'd lose customers. Also, I love the always overused argument - I'm in the biz so I know and you don't. LOL

Unless we're shown some evidence, let's not.... So much speculation, so little in the way of facts.

Where's the evidence the others copy and pasted we don't have that. According to various sites they were built specifically for MSFS from the ground up. You seem to love PMDG but hate facts when pointed out and result to some sort of insult. We are specifically talking about MSFS and how PMDG used old code to cut corners compared to others.

Just because MSFS 2024 is a "new" sim, that does not mean that developers can (or should) re-write every bit of code "from the ground up". The data structures and classes that define the internal operations of something like the FMS take a long development time to test and optimize, and will almost certainly be re-used, because a new base sim platform does not automagically mean that there will somehow be a better way to implement those functions.

For instance, the mathematical halversine formula, which is used to calculate the great circle distance between two sets of LAT/LON coordinates is over 225 years old, and is still used in every real world and flight sim FMS and GPS navigator today.

The "ground up" rewrites will be for functionality that is new and specific to the MSFS 2024 SDK.

Being the pilots on here have mentioned countless stuff It has been shown from them.

Wished the 777 FAP panel was made interactive for easier control of cabin lighting just as the 737 has.

Plenty of evidence out there, but I am done with this now. It is is boring and you fan boys won't change your minds. So little ion the way of facts LOL. Keep your eyes closed and pay your money.

I wouldn't bother trying to convince some folks here. Their condescending tone telling people how they should think when folks have clearly shown old code used over and over. Facts in front of everyone, yet somehow they feel like telling everyone it isn't real and they haven't seen anything. Let's not...LOL

Why would you seemingly expect that all code should change, between sim versions, for the same aircraft?

I mean, if something like the autothrottle sensing rate of 2.446 was correct in the P3D version, why would you expect it to be different in the MSFS2024 version?

What's the obsession with "reused code" if the code is functional and correct?

Sounds like you just want change for it's own sake.

I'm confused by this too. I'm pretty sure PMDG have said several times they use well established code for complex systems that have been developed over several years and several simulators.

Is this a problem? I seem to recall several times RSR complaining that the de-bugging tools promised by Microsoft had not been developed in a timely manner.

Is this the reason he is apparently the spawn of Beelzebub?

Complaining about the shortcomings of the SDK has hardly been confined to PMDG...
