April 1Apr 1 Absolutely agree with the OP about Kirk Heath. He doesn't even try to hide the fact that he enjoys wielding his 'power' in the most arbitrary, irrational, personally-motivated way. He is the absolutely epitome of someone who shouldn't even be a moderator on a knitting forum for Grannies. No offense, but I'm guessing I've had a little more interaction with him than you have, and this is a false characterization. It's Discord; it's a sloppy disaster if someone doesn't keep it on track, and so yes, I'm sure he doesn't hesitate to use admin authority when that seems the best way to solve a problem. It's not ego, and it's definitely not iFly or Flight1 trying to "silence naysayers". I can personally speak to how glad they are for constructive, knowledgeable criticism. The adjectives are important in that last sentence. If criticism falls outside those boundaries (in other words, if it's typical of what is seen on platforms like Discord or Reddit etc) then yes, of course it'll be moderated. The idea is to use the platform for adult conversation, not whining or foot stomping. Back when I was active on the public facing discord of theirs, I can't tell you how many complaints I had to explain away as simply incorrect. Users often reacted poorly to being told by someone with experience that they were mistaken about the operation of an airplane they'd never even sat in. That doesn't make a lot of sense to me and that's why I don't bother with that server anymore, but such is the modern Internet. I'm frankly glad someone is trying to preserve some order. In my opinion, what's been said should apply to EVERY kind of human interaction. I'm often surprised by the expectations and tone of conversation here (at avsim) also. Surely the prefrontal cortex should be developed in 99 percent of all forum members.😜 'It is better to be silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.'
April 2Apr 2 One of the best plane out there and very satisfying allready . Looking forward to a massive SP1 bonus Michael Moe Michael Moe
April 2Apr 2 It's been a long time since I last used it in P3d, then in FS 2020, never in FS 2024. I have to give it another try. I did like it a lot in P3d, more than the PMDG 737s which I never owned for that platform 🙂 but had for fs9 and fsx ... The logic of the EFB was kind of diffrent from what I was acostumed to, but there's a video about the new version which I haven't yet seen. Discord is a No No for me so, any product with no forums but only Discord is a no go for me. When I first purchased it it was based at the Flight1 forums. Never had moderation problems at Flight1's forums, since ages, just and I never had it at the X-Plane.Org forums, but I know some fellow simmers had. That's bad OFC, maybe I'm lucky... I don’t fly the plane anymore as I have far too many “Airliners for MSFS2024”in my current collection. Don’t need continuous disappointment when simming. It’s a hobby, not a forced march. YMMV. TANSTAAFL. Blue skies, -B I’m with you. I’m happily flying PMDG’s 737 instead. April 2Apr 2 I fly it extensively in MSFS2020 and I like it a lot. I agree with the comments on the EFB, but it's not a showstopper for me. Hopefully the new EFB will match the best that's out there.
April 2Apr 2 I’m looking g forward to SP1, but even as is it’s one of the best airliners in the sim.
