Yes.

I just checked and it says 60% off. Which one is it?

I have the 700 and I havent flown it in years. That's why I ask.

Thanks.

Haha, they're trying hard to keep up with the iFly.  Not quite managing though, especially compared to what's coming out soon from iFly.

Yep. 2024 is superior than 2020 in every way. Better physics, better weather, more options for the third parties to build more realistic aircraft.

Yeah because those are the aircraft so many people have wanted to buy! Randazzo is a pragmatist, and a successful one.  He'll adjust PMDG’s business model as necessary to continue that succe

It's not free to get the 2024 version of the 737. If you own the 2020 version you do get a discount, so if you own the -700 in 2020, you will get a discount to buy the 2024 version of the same variant.

(But the cabin / high detail update is free for who already own the 2024 versions of the aircraft like the -600/800/900. As the 700 isn't out for 2024 yet)

Is this going to be a free update?

Yes.

To avoid some confusion, The 737-700 upgrade from msfs to msfs24 won't be free. There will be a 40% discount, just like it was for the others variants.

But once, you paid the upgrade to have your PMDG 737 variant into msfs24, yes the High detail upgrade will be free for all variants.

How many FPS and how much VRAM will all of this cost?

I wouldn't worry too much. you'll be able to use it, there is more than one setting in MSFS 2024 to accommodate every pc environment.

AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090,  Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

This should be reason enough to throw MSFS 2020 into the trash can!

HA,HA, Why, because off a out of date PMDG Aircraft - that would be the last thing I would do...

cheers 😉

PMDG has gone all including for console clickflyers with cabin. And yes they are stating MSFS2020 is commercial dead, why are they still selling titles for 2020? For me PMDG is dead as a supplier, last investment was the 777, wich also now is with out updates.

I REALLY wish they'd add this level of detail to the 777. Still feels very much like a P3D aircraft

This is a short-sighted thing to say.  Many airliners have cabins modeled...  even in 2020 many had cabins.

I'd agree with Mathijs though...  I paint for fun, have almost 175k downloads since 2020... many many of my paints (the ones I create for both 20 and 24), have much smaller downloads for 2020 now.  So I can tell you my own statistics that 2020 is being used less and less.  There are some devs who still create for 2020.... but imo 2024 is much better for really every style of flying.

I held on with MSFS 2020 until December 2025, and wanted developers to continue supporting it because I was not convinced that MSFS 2024 was stable enough. One new PC and a decision to switch to MSFS 2024 when SU4 was released, and I can honestly say that it is time to say goodbye to MSFS 2020. The vast majority of my "MSFS 2020 only" airport addons work perfectly, and I now have the PMDG 737 and 777 in the new simulator. I do not regret upgrading four months ago. We cannot hold on to the past forever, and MSFS 2024 is every bit as stable now as MSFS 2020 was.

It is not the first time hi state that something is dead. If you don’t develop, your catalog is sold. PMDG have for the last three platforms had the same aircraft’s. And will surely have for the next 20 years also, but by that time I guess I am dead and buried. I am sure that if you do a paint for a new livery users will surely download and use it.

I just can’t stand the horrible interface of 2024 and will never ever use it.

a big loss for you then.

I'm just not convinced, looks to me like pretty much all of those comparison shots were taken under different lighting conditions.  So how much of any visual differences are due to the better lighting capabilities of the sim engine itself as opposed to the modelling? I wonder...

Time for an appointment with Specsavers? 😉

What I was seeing in that video wasn't directly related to lighting. It was a huge increase in substancial texture quality and resolution.
