It's the last variant to be converted, which many might not buy, but launching first with this update will make many eager, even those who already bought other variants, to purchase the -700 as well. I just hope the price is closer to the -600 and not the price charged for the -800, because that's outrageous.

Marketplace $82.69 full price, discounted $33.08 https://youtu.be/R_i5EM_3uIQ?si=eNCsfeaqPzUSSmAk&t=291 so same price has the 800 according to the video Edited April 7Apr 7 by carlanthony24

The latter has one variant. You get a lot more in the -700 package (passenger, freighter and business jet types, together with split scimitar and blended winglet options). At this point it’s not a pmdg product outside of the store name, it’s just a collaboration of different companies making one singular product. Just Flight is “just” a publisher. 😁👍

IMHO the MSFS pricing matrix is far more consumer friendly and vastly preferable to the “old” days. AFAIK, PMDG hasn’t changed their pricing for MSFS, so expect the -700 to continue being $75-ish. and p.s.: the P3D 747-8i/F was $215!! 😬

But I actually thought they had a dedicated team of developers that were making these aircraft. Or multiple teams of developers isolated to specific genres of aircraft. Nevertheless, I presumed they went out and hunted down talent and then hired them onto the teams. Never knew it was just a collaboration of different entities making the products they sell. They definitely have a core team of developers 👍 IIRC, the stalwarts like the Pipers and BAe, etc are theirs. IDK if they subcontract parts of the work, tho. They definitely subcontract ALL their X-Plane work to Thranda, tho. As did Carenado back in the day. there are others, particularly in the last gen sims, where quite a few addons were simply white labeled from other devs. E.g., Aeroplane Heaven did a bunch for them that were 100% JF branding. I’ve been in the creative vertical for most of the last three decades - big shops and small. EVERYBODY uses subcontractors and freelancers, etc. The burden of carrying a fully capable staff who can cover all aspects of all the work is pretty much unsustainable. What I usually see is what Just Flight seem to do: a relatively small cadre of staff who can do everything, but they also spend a lot of time directing/managing the external talent. Otherwise, sooner or later you end up paying expensive people to sit around and do nothing. 😬🤙 Edited April 7Apr 7 by UrgentSiesta

April 10Apr 10 I don't know where people get the idea that this high detail update is something new that is specific to the release of the 700. Have none of you bothered to compare the promotional video shots with how the 800 looks currently in the MS2024? I did and there is no difference I can see. Everything they point out as new is already part of the already released models in 2024. Edited April 10Apr 10 by Farlis

Most of the cockpit (the full MIP, overhead and other parts with decal text), the majority of the cabin, and a lot of parts of the external model have been completely re-textured. When you buy it and actually explore it, it is clear to see. Especially with the text and lettering. It's just not groundbreaking. But it is better than the existing -800/-600/-900 cockpit texturing.
