Retractable landing gear - how to add it ?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I would like to use Zlin 226 airfile with Zlin 526F becouse it suits to me better. The main diffrence between these planes is retractable landing gear. I've copied Z226 air file and aircraft.cfg - i've edited contact points , lights ,etc - one thing left is this landing gear.I changed gear type from 0 ( fix ) to 1 ( retractable ) using Aired in 1004 line - but gear still remains fixed or it's rectracted when i select diffrent aircraft , rise gear and then select Zlin 526F. Of course after that i can't lover the gear should i connect gear to some kind of electric system in air file ? i've no idea what causes the problem :-zhelpregardsEricson

Check the columns for retraction and extension time in the cfg file. They are zero for fixed. Put in 4-6 seconds for retractable. The animation has to be already in the mdl file. I don't think the air file has anything to do with it, but I could be wrong.John Woodward

Johns right - unless the mdl file has the gear animated, you can change the dynamic effects, but you won't get the visual effect.

In only tested a model with retractable gear breifly but it did not work until I copied an .air file from a a/c with retractable gear. So maybe...Steve

I've found solution to problem - after appling all above hints i removed gear_motor= 7, 5 , 220.0 under [electric] from airaft.cfg - that worked for me - thx for hints guys :-)regardsEricson
