Engine hours gauge

Hi All,I have just been looking through the file libary and I found an hour gauge for the default FS2000 cessna.My question is would it be possible to write a gauge in XML to do this for any plane, and could it be done in such a way that it writes a file that will be read when you restart the sim.ThanksDan.

Unfortunately, no... XML does not have the ability to read/write to file... :(

But the aircraft (kneeboard) notes file is saved, right? It should be easy enough to make an interface which allows the user to modify the "start time" of that timer during preflight inspection checks.Xml sadly doesn't provide file i/o.Arne, a little sidenote: You remember how TOGGLE_STRUCTURAL_ICE (close enough) didn't work? Wrong :) Works just fine, try it on the C208B and be amazed. Check with total weight minus fuel weight to verify. Add a timer function and voila, a fully functional boot deice system. Copying some "strange looking and unknown" .air-file records made the system active in our prop (not verified yet, but it sure _seems_ to behave good enough at first glanse).Feel free to drag me out of my little (always overcast) heaven if I'm way off here :D

Hi arne,I think that a real engine hours gauge would be good for the sim, If anyone would like to make one (I don't think I could) I would love to download it.If not I'll wait and see if someone comes up with one in the future.Many thanks for all of your responsesBest WishesDan.

Hi Dan,Someone did make a Hobbs gauge for FS2k2. It is either here on AVSIM or Flightsim.com. Works good as I am using it myself.Edhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg

Search for: hourmeter_1.zipIt is under FS98 gauges on AvSim.Or hourmtr2.zip for FS98/2k on Flightsim.com
