April 26Apr 26 All good things come to end. I LOVED the simplicity of FSLTL. I just liked when I was moving around an airport there was eye candy. Disappointing the fate of this program. I knew things at FR24 were changing a few months back when they sent a survey asking how much I'd be willing to pay to use FR24 as a hobby. I read they got taken over by some company so it's all about the money now - same as flightaware. Typical this day in age. A. Indeed, it is about the money --> people expecting to get paid for their work and effort. How dare they! Get a subscription to RealTraffic --> --> problem solved!
April 27Apr 27 What about leaving us the choice to keep using FSLTL with a paid subsciption ? Already got the answer: FR24 subscription plans do not include API credits. And as covered in our announcements , the cost for the API credits is not designed for something like the FSLTL injector that is making frequent requests including multiple aircraft. The pricing is cost prohibitive and not something we're interested in offering. As mentioned, in the future, if we're able to work with FR24 to offer a lower cost option, we'll look into it. Neither default ATC, BATC nor FSHud have any influence on it, which is one of the reasons I would never touch it. That is one of the main reasons for me to only use it. None of the ATC programs can move traffic anywhere near like real ATC, it's just too corny to watch. So with that, I treat traffic as 100% eye candy and PSXT is the ONLY one to come even close to properly moving traffic. i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200, RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024
April 28Apr 28 That’s pretty much where I landed too. If I just want believable movement around the airport, PSXT makes sense. But for normal offline flying I still prefer the simpler compromise of AIG plus the default real-time traffic, mostly because it keeps the cost and setup down. It isn’t as convincing in motion, especially for GA, but for me it’s good enough as background traffic.
April 28Apr 28 My big thing is FSLTL was just easy. I don't really need live traffic, and don't want to pay for it. I took the time to set up AIG and I'm glad I did, but that was a project. I have it working great now, but it took some time to get there. I primarily use BATC anyway, so I don't use FSLTL injection a ton, but it is nice to just start up a flight without a flight plan and just inject a bunch of traffic. Maybe this is just me, but one thing that bugs me about traffic that requires a flight plan is that it ignores airports along the way. There might be some cruise traffic, but if you fly over another airport, it will be empty. For example if I take off from JFK to some other destination, LGA will not have any planes. I love flying the VFR route over LAX, so I want traffic at LAX even though I'm not there. Edited April 28Apr 28 by kerosene31 ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
April 30Apr 30 It looks like FSLTL updated and now all you get it static planes. They are still looking into things, but it is out as an option for now. I ended up getting frustrated with AIG and removing it for now. The traffic program kept crashing on me with nothing in the logs. The program just closes with no errors or anything. I'm just sticking with BATC for now (I use it mostly anyway). I was thinking of dusting off FS Traffic even, it is payware but I already own it. Never got it quite working in 2024 though. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
April 30Apr 30 As much as i loved to use the FSLTL injector, every time i compared the position and altitude of a plane with Flightradar24 and ADSBexchange is saw significant differences. E.g. a plane enroute from USA to GER just flying by Island was displayed on 38.000 ft in FR24 and ADSBexchange whereas LSLTL injector showed it descending to 34.000 ft and below - not mentioning that the lateral position was way off aswell. Running my own little ADSB-receiver, I am currently developing an ADSB injector with focus on realtime and precision. If we could manage to get people owning an ADSB-receiver to feed data, it might become a nice community project - independent of big players and free of charge.

This is if you were using the FSLTL injector. The models will still work with other injectors, yes?

With AIG & TC I see some traffic on the G1000. I'm soon going to try disabling default models and use realtime setting without the AIGTC. The one thing I do not like about the default real-time setting is that parked aircraft disappear as you climb away from the airport. Terrible! Ricardo, How is the default ATC working with PSXT + RealTaffic? If I were to consider a sub, I'd probably opt for SI. The ATC sounds very good for vfr/ifr but I've read that there are still some issues with SI. how do you disable default models? are you referring to the plain white liveries on default msfs 24 models?

The only way to disable the default models is to follow the tutorial found on the GA MOD 2024 located in flightsim.to So much has happened since I tried that mod. I'm now using the AIG fleet with a default real-time setting, and the latest version of the FSLTL Injector to only place the aircraft in the parking spots. I'm finally able to see Airliners & GA parked and I avoid seeing white or default airliners. I read about this idea this morning and it's working very well. This is only for my vfr flights. For IFR, I still use BATC & the AIG fleet and that's also working great! MSFS

Yes, so for example BATC's injector using FSLTL models works perfectly fine. The models are all still there and usable. There's just no FSLTL injector that gets moving traffic right now (it just generates static a/c). ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
