April 25Apr 25 This is probably the most photorealistic DC-10 available for any sim - this is FS9. I don't think even msfs addons reach this level of detail. Its truly a lost art. Some interior shots ! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fd4PqV52BCdFmsG16c9EPex6SBndU4r6/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1S1jYnx7h63udVFiQ5h-x6amhu3De3smU/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NeGN8F_CTm75qNNdAg85o7NcN7kUHs41/view?usp=sharing Surprisingly, the systems are quite well modelled allowing me to finally apply real DC-10 Captain, F/O and S/O cockpit flows based on the real FLIGHT CREW OPERATING MANUAL. The level of detail texturewise is surreal. Here's my flight in the Diesel 10 incase anyone here wants to learn a thing or two on the aircraft :)

But the key difference was having skilled, professional programmers making such remarkable software. Today, many developers fall into that rabbit hole of eye candy at the expense of high-fidelity dynamics and systems functionality. I'm not sure why developers are so focused on cookies in the cockpit or fidelity rivets on the fuselage when their product has many flaws. I hope that programmers like those who created this DC-10 will return and bring us genuine joy, for the love of this hobby. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.

April 25Apr 25 Who here remembers Ed? He was the master of self made photorealistic 2D Panels in FS9 days. When those types of panels vanished, so did he.

Honestly, even as a 2D panel, it feels like I'm actually in front of a real airplane—so realistic and convincing. I can't find enough words to express how pleased I am with this cockpit. Just imagine what it would be like with MSFS 2024 graphics. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.
April 25Apr 25 Administrators Since this video has nothing to do with MSFS 2020/24, it has been moved to the FS2004 forum. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱Trying to keep peace and harmony and the will of Landru on the site seems to be a full time job!
April 25Apr 25 With PMDG working on a B747 classic, now is the perfect time to create something truly spectacular. This opportunity should not be missed! 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.

Plenty of wilcopub or abacus or even carenado back then We just have way more developers now in msfs. So yes, naturally there is a bell curve of quality in addons. MSFS has vastly more flight related variables to tinker with - and when done properly, I much prefer the physics in MSFS than previous ESP sims. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

April 26Apr 26 What DC-10 is this? I watched the first 4-5 minutes of the video and did not hear them say. It doesn't look like the CLS DC-10, which came later I think. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB

April 26Apr 26 When i saw the panel i was instantly transported into the insides of a DC-10. Nowadays it's all just "plastic" no matter how good the quality is. I wonder what's missing... Lighting? Proper photo textures? I wish we could see some cockpits like this one in MSFS. April 26Apr 26 As a former Dc10 flight engineer, I agree with you. Too bad we don't have one in MSFS24 and 20! Yep, this is Ed's panel. €29 at Simmarket, and I don't know if the plane is included. Some years ago, I'd have bought it, but now that HJG has theirs (and I'm now more into P3Dv5 and MSFS2024), I'm not sure. 20 hours ago, Joshua757 said: Its truly a lost art. I want to thank developers such as iFly, FSL and Majestic, who kept releasing 2D panels until the P3Dv5 era. Too bad PMDG didn't (starting with their Jetstream for FSX), citing development costs. Other developers saw them getting away with this, and started following suit. I remember those times... A quick question for you 😉 did you ever use the crossfeeds to feed off tank 2 until 1 2 3 were equal or did you use the trans pump + fill tanks 🙂
