What parameter would be used to calculate and product a FUEL TEMPERATURE reading to add to a gauge? Could not find it in the Parameter info from the Panel SDK document.

Hmm, I explaned to the DF Gauge programmer how to calculte Fuel Temperature for an AC in development. Just a few lines of code could generate a reasonable 'Fuel Temperature' from FS token variables. Numerous constants would have to be set to get it to vary appropriately. Ron

Could you then please explain it to the forum as i would also like to know how to model this variable

Hey guys.Just some cool info. Have a look at http://www.crcao.com/aviation/2003%20Aviat...ng%20Point).ppt and also this http://www.crcao.com/aviation/2002%20Aviat...emp%20Paper.doc Together, these documents already give you a good idea and formulas can be devised to replicate freezing behaviour, even of contaminated fuel (something you might wanna add to the soup :-))Plus here are some sites you might wanna have a look at and possibly write them to see if they can provide you this info:1 - Chevron Texaco Global Aviation: http://www.chevrontexaco.com/brands/prodserv/aviation.asp2 - The U.S Air Force Research Laboratory - http://www.afrl.af.mil/Best regards.P.S. Let us know if you find anything.P.S.S. Also check out http://www.iash.net/ They might have something of use in there.P.S.S.S. Please include the (Freezing%20Point).ppt which the forum script appears to have left out in the very first link I provided

Hi,I use (A:Ambient temperature, celsius).I simulate failures by vapours or freezing just by assigning a value lesser or greater than a set temperature value.Of course you can adapt the a:var, but why?Jan"Procul Negotiis"

>Could you then please explain it to the forum as i would also>like to know how to model this variable I forgot the details; I hope I can find my approach in old email. To calculate Fuel Tank Temperature realistically requires massaging many FS Token Variables. And also understanding a bit of Heat Transfer, Heat Capacity, Time Constants, Aerodynamic heating/cooling, etc. Now that I'm fooling with XML gauges I should get to trying something out soon. However, just adding a long time delay to 'Total_Air_Temperature' is much better than not adding the delay.Ron
