It's not drama, it's a joke. Humour does not travel well, especially here.

At 1440p almost any plane I load.  I do run TLOD 200 minimum though.  I typically also use MSFS AutoFPS.

It will not be out this upcoming week based on that. I’d say no sooner than May 14 or 15th.

Your being generous with that prediction. Based off past released windows as stated by another user on the Orbx forums, "Release: "Before Christmas > Before end of Q1 > Mid-April > Late April > ???".

I'm figuring the end of the month if we’re lucky. The Orbx moderator used the international PMDG phraseology of Soon! We all know what that means, 😉

TLOD 200 is "no-go" for almost every comlex scenery with 16GB vcard. With AutoFPS (TLOD/OLOD) on the ground I use 50/200 for large hubs, 100/200 for medium airports and 275/80 for everything above 5,000 ft.  Works well so far.

Eww.  100 is like less than 2020's 100.  24's 200 is similar to 20's 100.  Since they culled the LOD so badly... that is one downside of 2024.  I can't go less than 200.  But I might try Texture slider back to high.. that would be an easier tradeoff.

I also use autofps and that tends to help.  I don't mind 100 if I'm on the ground but on approach the runway is so blurry at 100 it looks terrible.

Then why don't you use the expert mode of AutoFPS and set the TLOD Base minimum to 100 @100 feet. This way the Runway should remain sharp enough.

Oh great, and here I was thinking I could update my 8GB card to a 16GB card and finally set the TLOD considerably higher.

Maybe pigeon droppings don't matter to YOU. Just understand that there are serious simmers for whom this is essential because they know and follow real-world procedures.

I assess pigeon droppings prior to every takeoff per the SOPs. Taking off on 9L and I see droppings at the main terminal? No sweat. If I get a bird strike, it's likely to happen at low speed, an easily managed RTO. Recent droppings at Concourse E? Now you've got my attention. Any bird strike is likely going to be near V1, and I'm looking at a high-speed abort or taking a surging powerplant into the air. I go straight to FORDEC. How can I mitigate the risk? Ask for a runway change to one of the outer runways? Request a tailwind departure? Call in Wildlife Management?

Some devs get this right and accurately model DABSR (dropping-associated bird strike risk). Maybe you don't aspire to this level of realism. Fine. But here you are, peddling your ignorance and professing to represent the community as you push the dev to release a clearly unfinished product. It's people like you who are actively destroying this hobby.

Shame.

Hey im just reporting but can we be best friends?

I have used the minimum setting but didn't know that part is possible.  That app is a little mysterious sometime.  I'm guessing I don't use it to its full potential

Cut him some slack for what? I just posted the link to the last official statement from the Orbx forums for those who want to know the latest news. I couldn’t care less about your satire.

I have a 12GB VRAM graphics card, and I am (just about) getting away with TLOD/OLOD @ 250/200 at the most detailed airport/scenery combinations. However, this is during the day with static AI aircraft, and calm weather conditions with one layer of scattered clouds......and at 1920x1080 resolution with DSR at 1.5x.

Sure! I'd be happy to take you under my wing and show you how I read pigeon droppings.

🤪

I am betting on Memorial Day weekend for a release.

JetLine Systems Gravity GT2-Windows 10 Home Edition (64-Bit), NZXT H500 Mid-Tower, Black, Gigabyte Aorus Z390 PRO WIFI, LGA 1151, Intel 9th Gen Core i9 9900K (5.0GHz Turbo) 8 Core / 16 Thread, Corsair Hydro H60 120mm Liquid Cooling, 32GB Corsair DDR4 SDRAM 3000MHz RGB, 12GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070, GDDR6, 750 Watt Corsair RM Series Power Supply, 5.1 Channel Realtek Integrated HD Audio, Primary SSD Drive:1TB Samsung 970 EVO, M.2 NVMe PCIe (SSD), Secondary SSD Drive:2TB Samsung 970 EVO, M.2 NVMe PCIe (SSD) 4TB WD Black 7200 RPM Mechanical , SimOn Solutions 737 Professional Compact Trainer (MIP, OH). CFY 737 Max Motorized TQ Gold V3, MSFS2024, ProSim 737. 2 45" Samsung 4K TV.

Orbx ATL and Bluebird 757 are both competing hard for multi year never ending projects.

Its absolutely ridiculous how long that Orbx ATL has taken, all we hear is "soon", "beta in april" then pushed back and pushed back.
