Sadly, imho these pretend or real low end devs generate revenue for the marketplace.  It would be hard for Microsoft to say no.  However if enough consumers are upset about false advertising, that cou

To me, what AI is being used for today is detestable. And now AI fraud has even hit flight sim. It figures. Thanks for the heads-up Ryan.

To be fair to him though we all wanted to see how terrible it was without buying it and he did that for us.

Today on marketplace those fake planes are rated higher than A2A. Flight sim abomination !  LOL

I certainly wouldn’t want to be in a room filled with those that are.

The ratings thing is an absolute unambiguous corruption on the Marketplace.

Did you know that 100s of people have apparantly bought MScenery's multi-pack, of their wonderful aircraft creations, at $160.... and they've all rated it at, or close to 5 stars?

It's probably the thing about MSFS that shocks me the most, the fact that a corporation as large as MS is either unaware of the corrupt rating activities, or are aware but are choosing to ignore it, for increased revenue.

I watched this B737-100 appear on the MP yesterday and, like Ryan, I saw it with 0 ratings.  Only 3 hours later it had almost 100 ratings, with an average of 4.9.

@SeedyL - I hope you can persuade someone in a senior position to investigate this.

Um…what???

I've ever purchased either ditect from the devs, or market places such as Just Flight, Simmarket, Aerosoft...

I've never bought from the MS market place.

I'm still not a fan of the MP but I do my own research and I do buy products from it.  Sometimes things are only available at the MP.

A wise and reasonable position. 🤙

Basically, I always find it best to follow the advice that “If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.”

To me, the MP is very much like the local supermarket or drug store: very convenient, but you’ve always got to be a smart shopper.

And yeah, there are some fine addons ONLY available there, such as the TMS YF-23, FSR500, et al.

Not to mention that I’ve gotten some stunningly good deals from the MP that I’ve never seen anywhere else - case in point: I scored the BS Turbine Duke for $23(!).

So, yeah - it’s right to raise this 721 as an issue, but it’s hardly unique to the MP.

Perhaps you've not seen, but there is a large thread now at msfs forums and Reddit (thankfully) about a crazy AI generated total garbage of a product in the MSFS Marketplace.  Somehow these "developers" are also generating fake 5 star reviews.  I've watched the reviews populate just over the course of today and it's up to 135 (there's a few people who actually bought it and have rated it poor but the majority are 5 star reviews)

The screenshots are also AI generated and absolutely NOT MSFS.  It's infuriating that actual users have been trying to apply to the marketplace for years and have been denied over this GARBAGE that is allowed.

I am posting here to make people aware of garbage like this.  This is another reason to buy DIRECT from the developer and avoid the marketplace.  I had been using the MP but avoiding low end products on my own.  This AI slop needs to end before it get's started.

@SeedyL Can you please make Asobo aware of this?  Aside from false advertising, it appears they may have hacked something to allow for tons of 5 star reviews.  Or they just have a bunch of bots somehow registering 5 star ratings.

edit: for clarity, the plane itself is a real product which appears to be from the FS2002 era (no joke) but the screenshots are all AI generated.
