[RELEASED] SimPassengers Bring your MSFS 2024 cabin to life

Hi Captains,

SimPassengers v1.1.0 is now available.

This update is mainly focused on early user feedback, cabin flow improvements, and getting the update system in place for future releases.

The biggest practical change is that after installing v1.1.0, future launcher updates can be handled directly by the launcher. Since this update includes that system for the first time, this one still needs to be installed manually.

We also added our first destination event:

Let's Visit Italy
https://simpassengers.com/events/lets-visit-italy

The event runs from 11 May 2026, 09:00 UTC to 17 May 2026, 23:59 UTC.

Complete 5 valid flights to or from Italy during the event window to unlock the achievement badge.

Domestic flights inside Italy and repeated routes do not count.

This update also adds Windows native notifications for events, achievements, and important SimPassengers announcements. These will appear as normal Windows notifications when available.

Cabin flow also received a lot of attention in this update.

After landing and arriving at the gate, SimPassengers now has a proper deboarding phase. Cabin crew will disarm slides, passengers will begin deboarding, and if you stay through the full deboarding process instead of skipping straight to End Flight, you will receive a small bonus.

We also improved the takeoff cabin crew PA timing. The "cabin crew, be seated for takeoff" announcement now waits for a more realistic point in the flow: boarding completed, taxi started, and landing lights on.

A few other things improved in v1.1.0:

- the in-sim panel now shows when a new launcher version is available
- fixed cases where cabin PAs could get stuck or overlap because multiple simulator connections were active
- added a much larger airline name database, including active and inactive airlines
- airline names should now be spoken more correctly, including older or no longer active airlines
- improved domestic arrival and deboarding wording
- fixed the "fwd galley" text being read too literally
- reduced false turbulence triggers around rotation and early climb

We also spent time looking into camera-based PA audio levels, for example lower PA volume in cockpit view, higher in cabin view, and silent in external view.

The idea makes sense, but at the moment this is not reliable enough across the simulator.

Some aircraft expose cockpit and cabin camera information properly, some do not. Some aircraft also have separate cabin and no-cabin variants. Drone camera makes it even harder, because the user can visually move into the cabin while the simulator does not always expose that as a normal cabin view.

So for now, we are not changing PA volume automatically based on camera view. We do not want to make it work for a few aircraft and make it behave badly for many others.

You can still adjust PA audio levels from the launcher settings.

Airline-specific meal and beverage service, and better handling for IFE, are also still in our pipeline. Low-cost carriers should not feel the same as full-service airlines, and this is something we want to improve over time.

Download v1.1.0 from simpassengers.com. Login with your account and download from your dashboard.

Thanks again for the feedback during the first days after release. A lot of this update came directly from real flights and comments from the community.

ps: I'm not very good with visuals, so the poster may look a bit sluggish so please don't roast me 🙂

I would definitely try SI. I use it and although ATC still has a few issues, they are sending updates weekly and for me as an airline pilot, I absolutely love the ability to get calls from the FA informing us of pax having medical issue, misbehaving pax, etc. You can talk to your FA like a real captain and ask the questions we would ask IRL. The FA will respond to you appropriately. I havent used the virtual FO as there are some limitations and I use FS2Crew. I want to applaud Anil for his upcoming tool and wish him all the best!

Thanks man, really appreciate it.

Medical situations, diversions, trying to find a doctor on board, maybe even getting in touch with MedLink... that is exactly the kind of immersion we want to create with SP.

But of course, not everything in SP has to be that critical. Sometimes the cabin crew might be working like crazy to handle a "Runaway Floof" in the cabin, just to put a smile on our faces while flying.

So hearing this from you is really important and valuable for us.

Thanks again for the kind words.

You ask, we deliver. At least that is the kind of relationship we want to have when building software for this community.

You fly it, you tell us what feels right or wrong, and we try to improve it as quickly as we can. That is how we want to roll at ACE Solutions.

And not to forget, you will probably hear from us again soon. We also have a small but very useful freeware tool coming up shortly.

Not saying too much yet, but I think some simmers will really like it.

When I save and restore a flight the next dsy can I carry on my flight with passenger or is all progress lost . SLC does and a deal breaker for me.

At the moment, no. SP does not restore an active passenger/cabin session after a simulator save/load.

SP builds a live cabin timeline during the flight, including boarding state, service timing, passenger events, PA flow and scoring windows. Restoring that properly after a sim reload is a bigger feature than simply continuing from the same aircraft position.

I completely understand why this matters for long-haul flights, especially if you split flights across days.

It is something we can look at for the future, but I do not want to promise it until we can restore the full cabin state properly without creating broken reports or strange service timing.

Passenger announcements - scripts for branding? How is the voice synthesis handled?

Would be neat if we could have a company defined, custom announcement flow, etc., but obviously those are reach goals to me. Maybe a couple options for when to trigger certain announcements, save them to an airline profile. Could also potentially provide custom scripts for the announcements. I was a flight attendant, I've always been thinking about how to get just the right crew mod lol

This sounds very interesting - I'll pick up a license in a few weeks when I can get back to simming. Congrats on the release!

Right now SP handles the announcement flow internally and the voice synthesis is generated locally. The scripts are not fully user-editable yet, but custom airline or company-style announcement profiles are definitely something we want to explore.

Different PA styles, trigger points, airline-specific flows, and maybe even user-provided scripts could add a lot to the immersion. We just need to be careful that custom scripts do not break the cabin timing, passenger events, or scoring flow.

Also, your flight attendant background is very interesting for us. Real cabin experience would be extremely valuable for SP, especially around PA wording, timing, service flow, and what feels natural or unnatural from the cabin side.

If you would be interested in discussing this further, please feel free to email me at [email protected].

Thanks again for the kind words.

For a product like this I would be looking for airline specific announcements and regional accents as I fly almost exclusively in Australia or NZ - so Aussie and Kiwi accents and Qantas, Virgin and Air NZ etc announcements.

Hi Bruce, thanks for the reply.

I think you missed the early messages, SP right now supports a large sound pack including male and female voices. We don't have specific accents but we have a large variety of voices ready for download. When you install SP there's a dedicated section in the launcher for voice packs. Right now Aussie and Kiwi accents aren't there but the support for them are already on our pipeline. When it's ready I will personally inform you about this.

Thanks

Hi Captains,

SimPassengers v1.1.1 is now available.

This is a smaller update than v1.1.0, but it has a few useful things that came directly from the last couple of days of feedback.

First one is boarding music.

There are now 4 built-in boarding music tracks you can choose from in the launcher. You can adjust the volume and preview them before flying. The music loops while passengers are boarding, automatically lowers out of the way during PA announcements, and stops when boarding is complete.

If you prefer not to have boarding music, you can turn it off from the launcher. We also plan to let you add your own MP3 files in a future update.

It is a small thing, but it makes the boarding phase feel much more alive.

We also added a small warning for SimBrief airline codes.

If your SimBrief plan uses an IATA code such as BA instead of the ICAO code BAW, SP will now show a non-blocking notice. The flight still continues normally, but it lets you know why the airline name may not be spoken correctly and what to change next time.

A few fixes are included too:

- Removed stall warning penalties and report rows. MSFS can fire its stall warning sim variable during rough-weather approaches even when the aircraft itself is not actually in a stall condition, especially with protected aircraft like Airbus. It was not fair to penalize flights for that, so we removed that scoring item for now.

- Report grade now follows the final score directly. 90+ is Excellent, 70+ is Solid, and below 70 is Needs Work. Before this, one noisy metric could make a very good flight show a bad report grade, which was obviously not right.

- SimBrief username errors are now clearer. If you enter your pilot ID by mistake, or mistype your SimBrief username, the panel will now tell you directly instead of making it look like no passengers were planned.

- Passenger count parsing is more flexible now. If the usual SimBrief passenger fields are empty, SP checks another passenger field before deciding the flight is cargo-only.

If you already have v1.1.0, the launcher should offer the update automatically.

You can also download the new installer from:

https://simpassengers.com/dashboard

Thanks again for the feedback and reports. A lot of these small fixes come from people actually flying with SP and telling us what felt wrong.

Will I actually see virtual passengers with this addon or is it only audio from 'passengers' ?

  • Author
  • Commercial Member

At the moment, SP does not render visible 3D passengers inside the aircraft.

But it is also not just passenger audio.

SP builds a full passenger and cabin timeline around your flight. From boarding to deboarding, it tracks the flight state, passenger count, service flow, cabin announcements, passenger reactions, incidents, scoring, reports, achievements and events.

It also uses flight telemetry during the flight, so the cabin reacts to what is actually happening rather than just playing random sounds.

There is also a web/community side to it: live flights, reports, achievements, event pages, and more community interaction features are coming. Things like likes, follows, and mobile apps are also on our roadmap.

The weekly events are not just simple banners either. For example, the Let’s Visit Italy event has its own event page, artwork, rules, achievement logic and flight validation.

Visible 3D passengers inside every aircraft would be a very different challenge, because each aircraft has different cabin models, seat layouts and camera behavior.

So the passengers are currently simulated through the cabin system and telemetry layer, not shown as 3D people in the cabin.

We are looking at more visual immersion features for supported aircraft over time, but we will do that step by step where we can make it work properly.

SimPassengers Video

But does it render them outside the aircraft (as per your video in your Op) ?

The reason I'm asking is that I bought it yesterday but am not seeing any virtual passengers.

See the video still linked above, please.

That's GSX. I've used GSX in the video just to show that we have full GSX integration.
