Light projection question in gmax

Recommended Posts

Hi there,I'm trying to model the Visionair Vantage. It's the first time that I'm modeling an aircaft. While looking at the rough model in fs2002, I noticed that one of the engine intakes doesn't have the correct light projection. Is that ok? How to fix it?Thanks!

I assume that you 'cloned and mirrored' the left side to the right...The way to 'fix' the problem is to select that part, select all polys, and 'flip the normals.'The way to prevent the problem is to clone a part, then add a 'mirror modifier' to the stack. Do not use the menu 'mirror' function.

Thanks Bill but I'm still having the problem. The intake was created using the mirror icon from the toolbar. I tried using "edit mesh/poly" and "modifiers/mesh editing/normal editing".Any other idea? Thanks

Of course, this has the potential to create other problems, such as the part displaying differently in FS than it does in gMax, or you putting a head-shaped dent in your wall...Safest way is just to delete the offending part, go back to the original on the other side of the plane, clone it, and apply a mirror modifier in the stack, as Bill described earlier.Matt
