iniBuilds London City Airport Announced

Perhaps I am wrong, but my feeling is that for a company that releases new airports at a breakneck pace, they take interminable amounts of time to fix those airports once released.

I cannot argue with that. It took 18 months to get the runway centreline alignment fixed at EGHI Southampton, and the low resolution texture taxiway signs and inconsistent airfield terrain textures (admittedly, this latter one appears to be a Bing problem, but it still needs to be sorted out) are still outstanding issues.

I own the Orbx version of EGLC. I don't see any reason to buy another version of the same.

I admit. I don't fly there that often. But isn't the orbx one already pretty good?

Well, the Synaptic A220 is the -300 model, the ITA A220s that fly into EGLC are the shorter -100 model. Now, if the ATR 2024 update would release, that would be good for EGLC.

It’s gone out to influencers, so it’s probably out soon

Now if only the FSS ejets were in better shape

Sad state of affairs where we have a world class LCY scenery but only mediocre regional jets and props...

The closest international airport to me, although I'm yet to fly from there. If it works well with the Orbx London City pack I could maybe be persuaded.

Managed to land there yesterday and come to a complete stop in an A320Neo. :-)

Try this next!

Just one detail to consider:

The Orbx version is already outdated. They still have the displaced thresholds on the runway, which no longer exists. This can make a huge difference with the tight performance calculations at this airport.

Up to this date that have never affected any of my calculations. The airport works fine for me.

We don't officially guarantee nor advertise compatibility.

That being said, you'll be fine to use the both together. Majority of the custom POIs included in the scenery don't overlap with Orbx London or default Microsoft POIs.

There are a couple that may overlap (like Thames Barrier and Cable Car), but you will be able to disable them via iniManager options if you want to run the two together.

What about PG? Is it workable with PG disabled?

based on their previous releases, use your imagination

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

KBUR (Burbank) Orbx V.1 I like. But then they brought out V. 2 which is the only airport that stutters like mad if I try to land there. So, I stick with V.1. I think V.2 of other Orbx airports may be a problem.

Whilst the IniBuilds version of the airport clearly looks better, I can understand the comment by one user on the FSElite website. That grass (and the underlying textures) looks a bit strange when compared to the lovely 3D procedural grass that we get as standard in MSFS 2024.

Try Just Flight's BAe146 and Avro RJ - they are/were common sights at London City, and both are excellent.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

They’re apparently working on it
