Boeings Galore - The LevelUP project

Featured Replies

Considering we have the Laminar B737-800, then the Efforts of the ZIBO team to take the 737 to another level of realism and functionality - It was a curious effort by the LeveUP team to then modify a variety of the 737;s to cover the variants of the 600, 700, 800 and 900 series Boeing 737's. Given the 737-700 is in fact the definitive B737 (as per Boeing) and the most widely manufactured. I mention this on the bass the FJS now propose an XP12 version of the B737-100/200 aircraft. I think the LevelUP project is now moribund or stopped. The outcome was to provide XP12 with a complete coverage of the Boeing 737 Does one really want yet another Boeing 737 in XP12?

Yes! The Airfoillabs 737 max.

Never quite sure about the Max as a viable Aerodynamic structure. End of the 737 line engines too big, wing completely redesigned and relying on hydraulic digital operated control for longitudinal stability. Not something that takes my fancy at all I am afraid. Can undestand the interest though. Think I go enough 737s now - whew!

I so miss a 737-400

Also lacks a -700 with 26A-B2 engine and gaseous pax oxygen system for proper ZULS routes, not to mention BBJ with axu fuel tank and -27 engine.

Heck, even the -300 from IXEG only came with -20K, not -22K Engine, totally unflyable in airports like ZPPP

Also the ZIBO/LVUP still missing some old-school options like EFIS display config, non-RNAV and non-TO profile FMS, meanwhile IXEG's U4.0 FMS is kinda too old-school to my taste.

NG have new wings compare to 1/2/classics, MAX is same with NG, just different wingtips.

Stability augmentation system is surprisingly common in airliners, but sure MCAS on MAX was catactrophicly faulty.

Alas the IXEG 737 400 was not a Linux Bird and relied upon the dreaded Gizmo plugin. Nice model etc but strictly MS Windows. Had it and lost it going over to XP Linux. ☹️

Those older 737 models are called Classic for a reason.

LevelUp published a major v2 update just this year, so I don’t think it’s a moribund project…?

Also built on a lot of Zibo code, so the quality should be there

I had trouble getting their addon trimmed out for level flight, and that rabbit hole seems to indicate LU use native XP flight model, where Zibo has some sort of “enhanced” flight model that extends the FM. I’m led to believe some of this was in response to FlightDeck2Sim’s ongoing feedback.

Yes, Boeing 721/2, 732, B-52A B D F, C-17, one day F-47 (IF they don't screw it up and Lockheed gets the contract)

Can you please do me a favor and do more thorough research before posting? Because a quick look into the production numbers of the 737 on Wikipedia will easily tell you that the -800 outsold the -700 by a ratio of almost 4:1, so it's hardly "definitive" and "most widely manufactured".

LevelUp is working on another update, albeit slowly because it's nothing but a spare time project for all involved. (Source: Their Discord.)

Still needs quite a bit of work though.

Yes, LevelUp does everything natively and there is a third party FM update that improves things a lot (posted the link to the Discord here somewhere). The guy who does the FM stuff is now working with the LU team to have a better FM out of the box after the next update.

Zibo introduced a plugin to work around some of XP11's FM limitations back in the day.

My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days

If we are going to have every variant of the airbuses in each sim, why not the boeings?

That is true three time more 738's - however the 737-800 is classed as a B738 not A B737 which is what the designator for the Boeing 700. Then there is the 900 or B739. Splitting hairs.

We shall see where they go with the Boeing .

As for the freeware 400 needs a lot more work and some XP12 atttention. Looked allright but functionally a bust on 12.4.3

Indeed - I have Boeings going back to the B314, then on via time - 707, 720, 747 200 and 400. Then onto to the 738s and 737s and I include the MD hiccup or the MD80. So in time naturally we shall round off with the 737-200 frm FJS. As for the 300-400 NGs maybe in time So if it is not Boeing I am not going LOL. And if it is not Linux then we will not be going anywheres either.

Yeah got the same Airbus bug so pretty widepread!
