Anyone still use the map enhancement tool?

I haven't used 2020 since 2024 release. But I fly all over Alaska and my ground textures look amazing and I don't use ME.

This is where I always feel like we're using different versions of the simulator. I've never liked Alaska in any simulator, and MFS has always looked terrible in many areas.😀

As for the textures, the latest downgrade has been pretty painful. That, combined with the classic photogrammetry issues found in many parts of the world, has resulted in my A2A Comanche being permanently parked in the hangar.

I would have to agree that we're using different sims. What I see looks amazing all the time. Especially since I installed Misty Fjords in the Ketchikan area. I'm doing low and slow up there all the time.

I too stopped using it, the difference is just not worth the hassle and I already have enough addons to be started along my simming session, one less to care about.

I haven't used the Map Enhancement tool since moving to 2024. I don't have a real problem with the scenery overall (once I discovered that City Update 10 was responsible for MANY terrain issues).

What really does bother me is the sense that the photogrammetry trees have become WAY WAY worse than in 2020. I can't fly anywhere without seeing melted blobs that are supposed to pass for trees, often tons of them. This is even with Bijan's Seasons installed also, which makes many trees look better. It makes low flying horrible.

Yeah, there is something seriously going wrong with your setup. I use Bijan's seasons. When flying helos low to the ground everything is sharp. No blobs that I saw with earlier release versions of 2024. And I keep PG enabled.

Thanks Bill.

I would really love for that to be the reason. I just loaded into KBDU, which is one of the airports listed in the latest update notes for Bijan's Seasons as having had PG trees removed. Here is a picture that I took from the southwest corner of the airfield, looking out towards a neighborhood that borders the airport. The airport itself looks great, but as you can see, the neighborhood on the left, which is immediately next to the airport has the blobs that I am talking about. Do you see the same in your setup, or do you see sharp trees there as well?

How did you attach a screen shot? I can show you what I see from your angle.

I used postimages.org, uploaded the screenshot to it and then copied the Direct Link and pasted it into the message.
