Painting but to no avail!!!!

Guys, I don't know what's wrong. When I try to paint my aircraft I wing up with no textures at all. I use the default MS "paint" program and it works nicely, if I could get the textures to work. Please help me as I want to be a repainter too... :-zhelp Here's what my textures look like...

FS only "sees" 256 color, 16 bit, 32 bit or DXT compressed textures. MS paint saves em in 24 bit color. Get Martin Wrights DXTBmp program and run em through that and either compress them or save as a 16 bit bitmap.Get DXTBmp at http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/index.htmBrian

That's good advice, the texture format issue threw me for a long time. I've been coverting 24bit to 16bit right in FSDS2 which seems to work OK.For textures with an Alpha, I'll save to a 32bit and use DXTbmp or Imagetool to convert to DXT3. DXTbmp is a terrific utility.Good Luck;Steven D. Myers
