FS2002 variables...

Recommended Posts

Guest sphing

Hi,I've been learning how to work with the FS2002 variables little by little and it's trying to figure out how to read them that is driving me crazy. The FS2002 SDK only lists the variable names themselves and I have no way of telling what the actual VALUES of the variables are unless I sit for hours trying to 1st display the value and than figure out how to convert the data into somthing I understand.Going through the Units documents tells me there are quite a few possibilites.Has anyone published more detailed info about the FS variables other than the FS SDK's?Can anyone recommend any freeware panels that have been created using XML... that I could examine and learn from? Thanks,John

Hello John,Yes there is a whole board dedicated to documenting and supporting the variables which are in the .air file and also the .cfg file as it will get in the way. This is a free service to MS until they work out how their product works.Air File Editorshttp://perso.wanadoo.fr/hsors/FS_Soft/fsairfile.htmlAir File Board, post March 2003http://www.avhistory.org/scripts/MegaBBS/logon.aspAFSD will display many flight parameters as you fly.HTHIan

Actually, that information is in the SDK, but not where you'd expect it to be! :)Look in the a_variable list in the section that lists the information for C gauges. You just need to interpolate the a_variable names to the XML name system...Also, there are a TON of panels, gauges, etc. already programmed in XML for inspection and inspiration... My little Socata TB20GT features 100% custom XML gauges, as does a number of other recent releases.
