How to add fuel tanks to a existing aircraft?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, just a little question:How to add fuel tanks to a existing aircraft?I have AirEd and AAM, but somehow I cannot add a line like a fuel tank or two to the file by using these editors. Is it nessesary to edit the air file or is it good enough to edit the aircraft.cfg and modify and add these tanks? I wanna have a better concorde as the concorde from the "Project Concorde 2003" but the fuel tanks are wrong.DO you know how to approach this problem?Regards,T-A-H MultiMedia Productionshttp://www.t-a-h.comt-a-h@t-a-h.comAMD TB 2400; Epox 8k3a+; 768MB 2100 DDR; Aopen GF4 4200 550MHz; CH-YOKE + Peddals; 17" Dell Monitor; WinXP Pro (German Version); FS2k2 pro (German Version)

Generally, if the values are in the aircraft.cfg file, you don't need them in the *.air file.FS2002 will read the aircraft.cfg file and *.air file for information. If you introduce and aircraft that doesn't have the expected sections in the aircraft.cfg file, FS2002 will read the *.air file and place those sections in the aircraft.cfg file. This is the case when you import FS98/FS2000 aircraft into FS2002 and use them for the first time. One important aircraft.cfg section is not added, the &l;RADIOS&r; section, which must be added manually.Go to the &l;fuel&r; section of the aircraft.cfg file to add the new fuel sections. You will need to add sections fs2002 understands. If you use Microsoft FS2002 Aircraft Editor (MSAE) (FSEdit.exe), you can add the fuel sections and save the file. However, you will have to use AirEd or AAM to remove the added records 1539 through 154x from the *.air file that MSAE adds each time you save.

What are those extra records (1539 - 154x)? Is that why saving with FSEdit makes my plane go completely goofy?Peter http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/PeterR.gifBFU Forums Moderator

http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/logo75t.gifBush Flying Unlimited"At home in the wild"Looking for adventure?
