texturing template difficulty

Recommended Posts

Back again, guys. I was able to do a reasonable texture for the side of my fuselage, but it only covered the side polys. Ideally I need to have a texture which can be used on the entire fuselage half in order to have the rivet lines properly aligned on all sides. I understand there is a way to 'flatten' the fuselage polys to form a template, but so far I have had little success. I tried the unwrap uvw modifier, but was baffled by what it gave me. Is there an easy way to make a template for painting?http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/26193.jpgMy problem area is mainly the radiused area ahead of the windshield. Thanks for the help!Robert

oh, if you want my tutorial I'll send it to you... but there are many out there that are prolly just as good. just email me through my website.. not thru here.It shows you how to apply multiple materials on one object... its a pack of cigarettes.keep in mind, many tutorials are for gmax1.1 and below. gmax 1.2 the Material Editor was totally redesigned and early toots will not work.joe
