Okay...new question re: Viking

Hello all,OK...It seems I was much better with FSDS than I am with 3ds Max and/or GMAX... :-roll Here's the problem: I 'cleaned up' and cropped the 3-views I want to use for reference, and now it's time to put them in 3DS MAX 5. I create a plane of the exact size I need, and I apply the the line drawing to it as a texture. The problem is, while the file I'm using is nice and clear, when I put it in 3ds, the quality goes down the crapper, and it's basically unusable. I tried screwing with the tiling and offsets in the material editor to no avail. Same story with the UVWmap modifier...what gives? At first I thought I'd insert the 3-views as a 'background image' image I found that it was a trial and error process to aligning it in the viewports. The fist time I moved my view, it all fell apart...A rookie mistake, I know, but I'm learning... ;-) Thanks guys,Nick LandolfiEDITED: For Grammar

Hopefully:Customize->Preferences->ViewportsClick on "Configuire Drivers" in the Display Drivers area, and set your download texture size to 512. This should help.(assuming 3DSMax5 hasn't changed that from gmax...:)

Hey Felix,Still the same, but in 3ds v5 there is the option for 1024 in Background Texture Size.
