Confused about landing and taxi lights

Recommended Posts

I was looking at the aircraft.cfg file for the default B737-400 in FS9 and do not see an entry for either the taxi or landing lights. So how do the lights work if they are not defined like the strobe, beacon and navigation and cockpit lights? (section from aircraft.cfg displayed below)[LIGHTS] //Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landinglight.0 = 3, -19.14, -47.24, 1.38, fx_navredm ,light.1 = 3, -19.14, 47.24, 1.38, fx_navgrem ,light.2 = 3, -64.32, 0.00, 4.92, fx_navwhih ,light.3 = 2, -18.22, -47.08, 1.38, fx_strobeh ,light.4 = 2, -18.22, 47.08, 1.38, fx_strobeh ,light.5 = 2, -2.65, 0.00, -4.60, fx_beaconb ,light.6 = 1, 2.20, 0.00, 8.30, fx_beaconh ,light.7 = 4, 44.41, 0.00, 3.50, fx_vclighth ,As you can see there are no light.x = 5 which should be a landing or taxi light.In the dark but seeing the landing lights at night,Bob

Landing and Taxi lights are part of the actual .mdl file, and do not use the fx type lighting. Those are "electrical busses" that can be used to control other things, such as a belly splash from a landing or taxi light.BillAVSIM OmbudsmanFounder and Director,Creative Recycling of Aircraft Partshttp://catholic-hymns.com/frbill/FS2002/images/fartslogo.jpg

Thanks Bill,Like I said it was confusing to see the lights work but not see an entry in the LIGHTS subsection of aircraft.cfg. Since those values include a location on the aircraft, that where I expected to see entries for taxi lights and landing lights.Bob
