Flight dynamics tuning

Recommended Posts

Maybe someone can answer these questions:1) Some freeware aircraft "too nervous" for me (i.e. small joystick movements result in hefty aircraft movements). What is the best approach to counteract this? I experimented with parameters like pitch_stability, pitch_moi and pitch_effectiveness but am still unhappy.2) Some aircraft don't seem to slow down in idle power but to fly at the same speed forever even if the motor is off. What value should I change (I tried the _drag_scalar parameters)?3) Some aircraft are building up so much drag when gear is down and flaps fully set that even when applying full power, speed decreases constantly (at zero ft v/s).How can I increase motor power in this case (I remember something like a tuning parameter for the full power mechanical effectiveness or so)?4) Some aircraft don't have any additional drag when flaps or gear are extended. How can I change this (I remember a drag parameter for the flaps, but none for the gear)?Andreas

Though you may just unlucky with some inferior models and should be asking for what are the examples of the best aircraft available from recommendations by others.Ian
