Benefit of 3D Studio Max over Gmax ?

Recommended Posts

Guest A386

Hello, for the hardcore FS2004 aircraft designer, what's the technical benefit of using 3D Studio Max 5 ?The LAGO Falcon F-16 for FS2002 for example was made in 3D Studio.Quote: [ Fully designed in 3D Studio for optimal compatibility and excellent framerates (far superior to other commercial aircraft) ]

Hey A386,Other then some more tools to make his life a bit easier, the designer has pretty much the same capabilities in gmax and 3ds. It is possible to achieve 3ds levels with gmax. Just a bit harder sometimes because of those tools. If you are thinking about modelling a panel to serve as 2D background, then the advantage of 3ds is its rendering engine, that can produce images such as these two attached ones. Of course these are at non-usual angles. It is possible to create a model and render it from the pilot's perspective, achieving very high levels of realism.Best regards.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/36442.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/36443.jpg
