Errors in Weight/Balance of Commercial Aircraft

While looking through the aircraft.cfg and ".air" files for the default 737, 747 and 777 and also looking at as much real world data existed for these planes (from www.boeing.com, www.faa.gov, etc.) it appears that Microsoft has erred.The Operational Empty Weight definition says:"Weight of structure, power plant, furnishings (pax seats, galleys, lavtories, etc)systems, unusable fuel and other items of equipment that are considered an intragal part of a particular aircraft configuration." This includes the minimum required flight crew for that aircraft (pilots and flight attendants).If you look at the aircraft.cfg for these planes, you find additional weight and balance entries for pilots and crew. In the 747 it adds an addional 2040 lbs. to the aircraft that is already included in the empty weight.Typically, when an airline calculates the weight and balance of an aircraft, they use only the passenger load, baggage and cargo loads plus any additional crew above the standard (i.e. jump seat or additional flight attendant(s)).You might want to edit your aircraft.cfg files to eliminate these weight stations, particularly if you are having problems with an overweight airplane.

We would need a new forum to collect and list all MS mistakes! That would really get up their noses. Later you may find their real mistakes which are a lot more difficult or impossible to fix.If you search the boards you can collect a large list of them.Ian
