Adding panel wear..

Recommended Posts

Hi,I'm working on a panel and I would like to simulate panel wear, like stains, fingerprints, etc.I use Paintshop Pro 7.04. Is there an (easy) way to do this, other then using the paintbrush pixel for pixel?

There is no substitute for a good paintbrush!!! Try using some of the texture and artistic effects up on that toolbar, you will be surprised how much you can add a bit of realism with a few minor texture and lighting tweaks. copy some file and just experiment!Hornit

I'm not sure, but maybe you could define a brush that has a light gray at the center and a darker outside.Or maybe you could add a greyish, textured layer underneath the panel layer and use a fine eraser brush to create scratches.(Haven't tried any of it, just an idea)-Daniel

Hi all,Thanks for the hints. I managed to do it with a (very light) airbrush including variable opacity, colors and size.
