Milton...Panel night light effect...

Recommended Posts

Guest abent

This is my first go at experimenting with night lighting. I know I have to darken the overall bitmap for night so the light will appear brighter. Also, I would like to make the light brighter at the top and fade towards the bottom, plus a bit more yellow maybe in color. This is just an experiment. I'd like to make the panel much darker and apply the light and hook it to the switch. Also, I cannot have the light effect over top of the gauge because the gauge goes over the bitmap and it looks crappy. I had to repaint the inside of the whole gauge surround black after I put the light effect on.Thanks, Adamhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/54516.jpg

Now all I have to do is figure out how to have FS use the normal day bitmap during the day and switch to the darker night bitmap at night when I turn on the panel lights. This is how it looks at night with panel light turned on. It's totally dark of course except gauges when panel light is turned on. Of course during the day now it looks too dark and the flood lights are also on.I have to improve the light effect somewhat as well as it looks a bit 'choppy', not a smooth fade. I'm working on that.Merry Christmas...now off to open presents! }( Nighthttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/54543.jpgAnd Day (for now)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/54544.jpg
