Annoying wav/guage file

I have a problem with a very annoying wav. It plays> while using a number of 3rd party panels. I hope you might be able to help fix it.> The wav is a before takeoff checklist wav. It's very> loud, scratchy, "noisy". It has a European accent,> and the wav says something like" takeoff> checklist...flaps 20, 20, green. Engine ignition> set. takeoff checklist complete" The wav file is> very much longer that I have written. That is all> that I can remember right now. If it played it> before takeoff, that would not be so bad. But the> problem is, it plays it every 3-4 minutes, whether> you're taxiing, climbing, cruising , landing,> whatever. It's very long and it gets very old after> a while. I have looked in all of the places where> there might be wav's. No luck. (i've played them> all!) > My best guess is that it must be a guage file with> some kind of imbedded wav file. I think it is a> guage file because it plays even though I use a> different plane/panel. Do you think it might be an> over-written default guage file? Do you think> re-installing the default guages might fix it? > Would you happen to know where the guages are> located on the CD's? > > Thanks you for your time and attention. Hi,Try to comment out (//gaugexx=abcd, 82,316,34,17):FPDA_Boeing_CalloutFPDA_aircond_switchHGHB_NO-SMOKINGHGHB_SEAT-BELTSdfd_soundsw10!snd_switches(all)radiocd3If the annoying sounds are gone work back one by one and see what the offending gauge is.The other ones seem to be default and should give no problems(?)Jan"Procul Negotiis"

Jan,I have finally found some time to troubleshoot the problem. I found out that I have this mannoying wav file even when using the default 777 with the stock panel. Sooo.....My assumption is that it must be an overwritten default guage. Does this sound right?? Would it be possible to locate the guage cab on the installation cd's? Does anyone know where they are located? I really don't want to do a complete reinstall. Does anyone have any ideas??Thanks,Mike

Well I found the guages, unzipped them, and put them into my guage folder, overwriting them all. It did not help. I still have that file. I can't think of what to do next. Has anyone ever run into this before?Mike

Hi Mike,Don't know if you are still around or if you already fixed this one- but I had it too. Just fixed the bugger this morning. Look in your sound folder for a .wav called newwind.wav. This annoying file was included in the "ultimate default B737" aircraft I dl'd from avsim. If you did the same, you will need to edit your sound.cfg file for the b737 and replace the newwind.wav file with the default c5wind3.wav file.Good luck and happy simmingGary
