placing gauges in vc

Recommended Posts

Hi,For the first time busy with the virtual cockpit, using the posky 757 (waiting for the 767!.......).I try to replace the VCgauges in the panel.cfg with my own, but they look rather distorted. Is there a system or is it just a matter of trial and error?I did some search, is there a tutorial?Had a look at the vc bitmaps, but couldn't find any logic. Some advice is very welcome, thanks in advance,Jan"Procul Negotiis"

Hi.I am not familiar with Posky, but in general you have 4 groups of numbers, the first is the X / horizontal placement, Y / Vertical, and the next two are the size / shape, horizontal / vertical. If the last two are not in the proper ratio, with respect to each other and the texture that they are placed on, they can look distorted. Try to change one of the last two numbers, and osberve the change. TV

Get FS Panel Studio and save yourself a lot of trial-and-error, since you can SEE what is placed where, and can drag-n-drop 'em on the fly... :)VCockpits are typically a series of sub-panels that're placed in *front* of the "background panel image," and act as "projection screens." FS will "project the gauges" onto them whenever you are in the 3d Virtual View. However many VCockpitx entries there are will tell you how many sub-panel projection polys there are. The existing instruments will tell you which "screen" is where on the existing panel.Other than that, gauge placement is exactly the same as the 2d panel; you simply have more than one to work with! :)
