"Panel-less" panels for 2k2 - are there any?

Recommended Posts

Hi - I'm wondering if anyone has designed a set of instruments without the panel, like the view you get after hitting "w", that has a more complete set of instruments that what happens out-of-the-box?Ideally, I'd love to at least see a VOR and DME - I don't even know if this type of thing is possible. Also, is it -ever- possible to have an instrument view when not looking straight ahead without the virtual cockpit enabled? Thanks,Andrew

Only the instruments will show. Then add/subtract instruments as you like. If you're not conversant on adding the instruments, try out one of the many panel building software packages.

I have not found anything that will allow me to edit graphically a mini-panel, which is what is being discussed. However, you can certainly edit the mini-panel.cfg file directly and by process of trial and error arrive at the look and gauges you want. There are strictures on how it's used, of course. I did create a mini-panel for flying helicopters which contains the most used 5 gauges and a HUD which gives a good field of view and the info most needed for flying. I should mention that I'm pretty new at flying heli's and need this "crutch" even to get them into the air. :D

>FS Panel studio allows you to edit panel windows, and the>mini-panel is a panel window:In addition to that, you CAN easily edit the "default mini-panel" by simply RENAMING the file, performing your edits, and then RENAMING the file again...It really IS that simple... :-halo
