Old Stuff - Reflections on FlightSim

Recommended Posts

I'm cleaning up to move. One of my friends just gave me an old iOmega Zip100 so I could find out what is on my old ZIP disks. I was surprised.I found an old FS4.1 zip file. I'm going to try it in a while. There were alot of FS98 repaints. I flew for Noble Air, Transit International (TIA) and New England Air and did repaints for them all.I found some AS2 files, I think I still have the software somewhere. Does anyone still use that?I found some Flight assignment ATP diskettes, along with Falcon3.I also found an Eric Ernst 757 for FS2000. I remember that was the best at the time. It's amazing to me how far the sim industry has come.Regards,Jim

FS4 works but stutters and lags behind in keystrokes. First entry in log was 1993. Pretty cool. That would be the same year I found old personal checks for flight training out of old Linden airport (LDJ).Jim

AS2... do you mean ActiveSky 2 or Airline Simulator 2? If it's the latter, I still have very fond memories of that... the flight models were way beyond what MSFS offers today. Very much looking forward to Airline Simulator 3...Cheers,Martin

heh. I too have some old ZIP disks laying around from about the time 1996-2000. I am sure I would find some interesting things on them, things I have forgotten about.I used to back EVERYTHING up on those.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2585 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2gb Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8 (1T), WD 150 gig 10000rpm Raptor, WD 250gig 7200rpm SATA2, Seagate 120gb 5400 rpm external HD, CoolerMaster Praetorian
