Newbie: Texture Sizing

I would like to know two things if someone could help me out...1: How do you re-size existing textures to smaller ones?2: Which texutures are smaller (file size) DXT3,DXT1, or 8-bit?Thanks design gurus for fielding these questions.:7

>1: How do you re-size existing textures to smaller ones?Re-size the bitmap by a power of 2: 1024x1024; 512x512; 256x256; 64x64>2: Which texutures are smaller (file size) DXT3,DXT1, or>8-bit?The are decreasingly smaller, in the order you've listed! :)

And if I could trouble you for another question:How do you resize them? IE What program should one use to accomplish this?Thanks!:>

Any quality paint program will have a resizing/resampling utility. Most folks use Paint Shop Pro. I use Corel Photo-Paint 8 or Adobe Photoshop but there are others like The Gimp, Microsoft Image Composer and you can even use MS Paint.Lou
